"My help in particular, or the station's?" Avery asks, eyeing the newcomer with interest as he slings his coat over his shoulder. He's only just gotten back from another call, but the day has been dull enough so any distraction is welcome, even if the rest of the rig would disagree.

"What can I do for you?" He continues, tilting his head curiously.

“ well, this is a first. “ “ getting stitches? “ “ spending Christmas at the ER. “ [ to any muse of your choice :) ]

Ash looked at the guy beside her, offering him a small smile. "Chin up, man; it didn't look too bad from the glance I saw when you showed that nurse. Few stitches and you'll be home before the turkey's even cooked. Though, maybe try not to make a habit of it... The ER always seems to fill with weirdos on holidays. Visited ERs on a few holidays before and... 0 out of 10, would not recommend, even for work" she said, her voice light and a little playful before she offered a hand, "Ashley Hughes, though, Ash works fine; only my mom really calls me Ashley"

Fire Alarm - Cheryl/Vincent

Vincent laughed a bit. “They must be the living definition of a headache. On the bright side, they didn’t burn the building down.”

He pulled his heavy glove off his hand, and tucked it under his arm, before shaking her outstretched hand. “Pleasure’s all mine, Cheryl. If you called me Captain Carter all the time, I’d worry it was the chief coming after me. But at least you are way prettier than he is.”

She squeezed his hand slightly as she shook his hand, staring into his eyes.  She blushed slightly at his remark about her own attractiveness.  “Oh, gosh, you flatter me,” she chuckled, feeling like a schoolgirl as she patted down her hair.  “Nice to meet you too, Cap---er, Vincent.  And thanks for saving all our lives, and....and stuff.”

“Oh I am free after I close up. I just need to go upstairs and give something to eat to my dog and get something better to wear. Dresses aren’t very handy if you need to climb somewhere” She smiled at the man and brushed over her hair. 

She was happy that his sister had liked to book. “That is good..I as a bit worried but I like that book as well..so i thought there is good chance she would as well. I  mean it is a good book” She chuckled and closed the cash register and looked at Vincent “ If you can go and turn around the sign on the door that ‘We’re closed’ and we can go up and get Bones his dinner”

The promise of apple pie sounded so good and she smiled thinking of it, almost tasting it already. “Evening in a handsome company and sweet treats, sounds like a perfectly good time to me.” She stated and lead Vincent to the back room and up the stairs.

"I'm an FBI profiler, not a fire inspector" Sadie said defensively. In truth, she should have seen the cracked light bulb. It hadn't been completely destroyed, and it was fairly obvious, but she didn't want to admit that.

"So, you're the firefighter" she said, trying to change the subject. "You tell me, what kinds of things would you put on a light bulb to cause it to overheat and start a fire? Especially if you were trying to kill someone."

Bonnie bristles when he reveals the unintended offense she’d caused. “I would never deign to consider calling you cheap.” But his next remark coaxes her smile back into existence. “A whopper?” Her hand is extended to him. “How about my world?” Does hat sit better with you?” She asks.
