Sadie: She got a locket from her grandfather a little bit before he died. She doesn't wear it all the time, but wears it for special occasions if at all possible (she doesn't think it goes with all dresses or shirts, unfortunately).

Lily: She's too scientifically minded to REALLY believe in "good luck charms," but she does have a certain bracelet she wears when she has a big event (big test, job interview, date, etc.) that's happening. Her parents got it for one of her teen birthdays and she wore it when she found out she got her college scholarship, so now she wears it when she thinks she needs a boost.

Melanie: The closest thing I can think of is a blue butterfly decoration on her keychain. She likes butterflies and has a butterfly tattooed on her upper back. She doesn't really consider it a good luck charm so much, though.

Rocky immediately came to mind. She's a boxer, she grew up in Philadelphia, she feels like an underdog herself, how could she not love Rocky? Although she does take issue with the actual boxing ("why does he just stand and take a beating?"). She still loves it, at least the first few.

There's probably some romantic comedies she knows well, but as I am a man not someone who watches or reads a lot of romantic comedies, I'm not sure which ones those would be. She likes something lighthearted with a good ending when times get rough, though.

🤝 : what does loyalty mean to your muse?

Melanie grew up shuttled around different foster homes, some of which were good, some...not so much. But most of them gave up on her when she started getting in trouble. So she didn't learn much about loyalty for a long time, until she met Gabriel, who became something of a mentor for her (as well as Gabriel's wife, Marilyn). And he showed her what she thinks about loyalty now: someone who will stick by her, even if they do call out some of her worse behaviors.

🏹 : does your muse know how to use any weapons? which ones? what is the most unconventional item that your muse has ever armed themselves with?

Melanie worked as a bounty hunter for several years, so she knows how to use a variety of nonlethal (or less-than-lethal, technically) weapons: Tasers, stun guns, pepper spray, batons. She does know how to use handguns. She's a good shot, not an exceptional one, though. There's also just her own hands and feet, though considering her size, she'd rather not go up against a large man if she can help it, and it was always better for the job to not use violence.

But she once threw some sugar into the face of a woman who didn't give up so easily before getting the handcuffs on her.

Around the Home

Does your muse own a bookshelf?

Sadie- Yes, she has some books relating to work (criminal psychology, FBI handbook, things like that), a few mysteries and simple romance books.

Melanie- Yes, probably a small one with some books. She's picked up reading as a habit more to pass downtime.

Lily- Yes, she has some tech books, fiction books, maybe a few old video game strategy guides on it, and some video game decorations on top.

Does your muse own a clock?

Sadie- A couple of digital clocks, one alarm clock in her bedroom and one in the living room.

Melanie- An alarm clock, an analog clock near her TV.

Lily- Basic alarm clock. Otherwise she uses clocks on her phone, computer, DVD player, other electronics.

Does your muse own a deck of playing cards?

Yes to all.

Sadie- Has a couple of packs laying around. She's not a big card player though.

Melanie- Yes, she sometimes played poker with some of her fellow bounty hunters when they were waiting around.

Lily- She has some around, but would have to dig them out.

Does your muse own a working car or vehicle and if so, what kind?

Sadie- She owns an SUV, though I've never figured out what kind. Probably a Jeep Grand Cherokee or something similar.

Melanie- Honda motorcycle and Nissan Altima.

Lily- A small car. She rides her bike or public transportation if she can do so.

Does your muse own a pair of handcuffs?

Sadie- They're FBI-issued, not technically hers.

Melanie- Yes, since she worked as a bounty hunter before becoming a private detective. She also owns leg irons and plastic ziptie handcuffs.

Lily- Maybe a toy pair as part of a costume or something similar, but no real handcuffs.

Does your muse own any vintage dolls?

Sadie and Melanie- No.

Lily- Her mom might have a few she'll get one day, but she doesn't now.

Does your muse own any holiday decorations?

Everybody lives in apartments in their main verses so they're limited in what they can have.

Sadie- A moderate-sized Christmas tree. An American flag she puts on the balcony for American holidays (Independence Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, etc.). A bunny for Easter. A cross she got for Easter but always stays up now.

Melanie- Not much permanent. She gets a small Christmas tree every year, pumpkins for Halloween, American flags for the 4th of July.

Lily- Some small Christmas decorations, like a wreath.

No. I don't really think she would've been into them much even as a kid.

No.

Probably in a few board games. Not just loose dice.

She has a few. She played games sporadically as a kid. I wouldn't say she's ever been a big gamer. She'll probably have whatever the latest Nintendo system is and a few games, things she plays with friends.

How many shirts does your muse own?

Too many, Sadie loves clothes. Between shirts she wears for work (mostly blouses and similar types), t-shirts and tank tops she wears around home, shirts she wears on days out, and a few cold weather shirts, she'll have at least 30-40, I'd guess.

Does your muse own any figures, toys, or collectibles?

Not much she has in her apartment. Maybe a few Barbies for decorations, and that's about it.

How many pairs of pants does your muse own?

Not a lot. Sadie wears skirts more than a lot of women and prefers shorts to pants if the weather is warm enough. She does have some for work, and some sweatpants/yoga/exercise pants for working out. Maybe somewhere around a dozen all together. If we're counting shorts as pants, the number goes up a lot. She owns more skirts. If you see her out for the day, she's more likely to wear a skirt unless it's very windy, she's going to be doing certain physical activities, or it's really cold (she doesn't like pantyhose). She keeps a pair of pants and a skirt she can wear for work in her car if she really needs one or the other.

Does your muse own a typewriter?

I seriously doubt it.

What type of medicine does your muse keep around?

Medicine for basic problems, like headaches (she gets them once in a while), sinus problems, acid reflux, things like that. Probably a few sleeping pills for when she's had to travel on short notice, but she doesn't take them regularly.

Does your muse own any books?

Some. She has occasional mysteries and light romance (not written porn in other words), but a lot of her books relate to work: psychology, criminals, how criminals think, etc.

What type of decorations does your muse have where they live?

Aside from pictures of her family and maybe a few friends hanging around, she has some plants (all fake, because she's terrible about remembering to water real ones), some decorative pillows on the couch, a few various cutesy artworks she put up soon after working for the FBI and realizing she needed something to brighten her apartment up.

Sadie interrupts from the background. "Yes, I have a red light hanging in my kitchen" she says in a completely deadpan tone.

Sadie wasn't entirely sure of that herself. She'd seen the car coming at her enough to avoid getting completely run over, but had still been hit hard enough to go into the air and landed painfully on her side.

"It's not easy" she said through gritted teeth, not really meaning to sound sarcastic. She moved her body around. She didn't think she had any broken bones, except maybe a rib or two, she wasn't entirely sure. Her left side, the one she'd landed on, had a lot of pain, especially in the side of her torso and her hip. Her left arm was going to need some bandaging up. At least she hadn't hit her head.

"You didn't get the license plate of that car, did you?" Sadie asked the other woman. Of course, the car had driven off.

A grin widened across her face, she was right, it did go to voicemail. "Hi Sadie!! Its Lizzie!!" Her voice dropping. "Do you need any assistance?? Strictly off the record. Lemme know."
