I'm going to be playing catch-up on posting since I’ve been absent from this blog for quite a while. Despite my absence from blogging, I’ve still been monitoring the charts and trends to constantly update my personal playlist. Why I like this song: catchy, upbeat, great melody, his slick appearance without trying too hard, great voice and he can dance! Love the choreography even if he does seem like 1 sec off sync with the rest of the dancers haha :)
Upbeat songs are like gold when it comes to vpop because vpop is generally dominated with ballads (I still love ballads!).

Why I like this song: romantic and sweet, relaxing, soothing, great voice.
This song is crazy popular and was playing constantly during my recent trip to Vietnam earlier this year. Great voice with a sweet music video to suit; it’s a great romantic track.

When I first heard this song upon it’s release, I knew I had to include it on the blog and now I have......almost 2 years later (ugh. I’m so bad). Why I like this song? It’s upbeat (aka. gold), trendy, great dancing and she looks gorgeous! I also like how the beat has a slight Modern Talking/80′s pop/disco vibe.

Why I like this song: Mellow, relaxing, soothing, great voice, indie feel.
I feel like songs like these are breaking the mould of slow vpop songs. It’s a nice song to listen to on a warm and lazy Sunday afternoon.
Song starts at 0:53 for anyone who doesn’t want to wait (like me lol).
Why I like this song: Refreshing, uplifting, it’s different! It’s a youthful song with a high school setting - perfect as a graduation song. Again, I find that it really breaks the conventional vietnamese music trend. The music video is also great quality with a v-drama-worthy storyline; guy likes one girl, secretly crushed on by another but doesn’t notice her until she gets a makeover etc.
