When you plan to go alpine climbing some nice and long routes in the Mont Blanc massif and suddenly you realise the wind will be perfect to take off from the summit of Aiguille Verte... It does not take too long to change plans since it’s not everyday you get to fly off this beautiful peak. It was also the perfect opportunity for Zeb to guide Guillaume, whose dream was to climb and fly off Aiguille Verte since many years. The three of us headed for the classic Whymper couloir in good conditions but already a bit dry. A route I like on one of my favorite mountain in the massif. As I was on the last foot steps from the summit I could see my good friend @giuliamonego taking off the summit (they had climbed the Couturier couloir) which made me happy and excited for her. Zeb and Guillaume topped out a few minutes later and it was quite an emotional moment seeing Guillaume so happy to finally reach the summit of Aiguille Verte. He took off shortly and safely after, with the help of Zeb. My turn came, gentle and smooth. Whoop whoop I was also flying off this summit I had been looking for quite a few times! A little turn to the left and I was above the Drus, playing next to it, stoked and excited like never! Between work, trainings and another storm we squeezed in a quick go on a classic off piste of Chamonix that is getting complicated to do without wings to exit the steep and dry morraine now. The line we picked is called the Rectiligne, hoping for some good snow. The couloir was more opened than we thought and the sun from the previous days had totally transformed it, making the whole couloir really hard and definitely not fun to ski... Luckily the lower part of the descent at a lower angle was pretty good to ski and untracked. The exit with the flying got again a bit tricky with stronger wind than expected but Zeb’s found the perfect little spot to make the magic happened ✨ Feeling grateful for such little adventures shared and for all the learnings I get out of it 🙏🏻 Slide 1 End of the skin up boot up at Col des Grands Montets. Really fun combo on the Lagarde couloir in les Droites yesterday with @antipodeszeb! The route was in really good conditions, (although the start was not possible to protect) and we were stoked to top out in the sun after a few hours of effort. We decided to take the skis and the lightweight paragliders, but we were pretty unsure flying would work. (The wind forecasted was not the good one for a take off at the col des Droites and the slope underneath too steep to lay down the wings) In the end Zeb found a tiny flat spot at the base of a huge rock were we could put one wing at a time. I was definitely stoked to fly over the Couvercle hut and know that, at that point, we would make it to Cham 💪🏻 The skiing down with this type of snow and the heavy bags would had been way less fun! .
