finally about to be in the time skip on my golden deer route and i miss dimitri....
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has been impressive, for the most part. As of writing this, I'm in chapter 2 after picking up Vanhand and heading to the new city.
The story has been solid so far, but generic. You play Rex, who is bound to an ancient and powerful Blade (Pyra) whose goal is to return home to Elysium. It has potential to take off, i just don't think I'm there yet.
Supporting cast members Nia and Poppi are fantastic. Dromarch is pretty entertaining as well, but Tora can be a tad much at times. I honestly can't tell if I dislike the Japanese V.A. or the English version of Tora more. OST is solid high adventure orchestral jams, not far off from where the original left off.
I know it is early in the game, but I wish customizing Poppi weren't such a hastle. I don't mind having to play the diving mini-game to earn parts and upgrades (it's actually a nice game to mess around with if you are just looking to burn some time on breaks or something), but it is frustrating that you can't build certain parts without owning certain manuals which are scattered throughout the world. I would love to have an attacker mod for her (or at least a different element), but I've not been that lucky.
