You know, he almost wants to leave it at that, but he cannot bring himself to, in good faith, leave her alone when she is so obviously upset.  “ Okay, well what about food? I don’t even know when the last time you left your room was, and there are leftovers in the fridge that I could heat up? ”  Of course, he did not want to bother her  (  this time...  ),  but after four days, he felt the need to intervene.  “ Hey--- ”  Taking his chances, he steps into the room, approaching the bed.  “ Are you... crying? ”

“you cannot tell me this ain’t good,” calypso remarked, taking another chunk out of her fried oreo.  maybe she was fascinated by the lights and rides that looked like they were kissing the sky, but this night was going amazing so far.  “i told you this carnival would be everything; you havin’ a good time, right?”  caly nudged them slight, sucking powdered sugar off her thumb.  she didn’t like referring to outings like these as dates; it put too much pressure on both of them to try to become something.  she just wanted to have fun.

━ “i told you i didn’t want you here to watch this shit.” he snapped immediately as he walked into the locker room, her on his heels. freddie wasn’t used to being so easily distracted by anyone, nevermind his childhood friend, but lo and behold ━ he had been. losing wasn’t part of his repertoire, although it did happen on occasion. when a bigger guy that had been fighting longer than him took him out, he could swallow it. but this guy? should have been a cakewalk and it would have been had rose stayed away like he told her to. whirling around to face her, blood dripping from the side of his head, his jaw tightened. “so, yeah, it kind of is.”

“hey!” she called louder than she wanted to, but to stop someone from taking the direction of a hoard she didn’t feel she had the choice. her hand went into the air with a silent circular motion. “circle around.” she caught up to their side in only a few strides. “something happens to you out here i’m sure i’m going to be answering to someone.” better to spare them of herself; where she could avoid dealing with people pissed off about something, she did.

“ Of course. It’s fine. Really. ”  A polite smile graces her lips.  “ Right, or... okay, you should know better than most people that the couch isn’t actually all that comfortable, ”  she laughs quietly, nervously.  “ And you’ve been really patient and sweet, and if you think that I’m going to let you sleep on the couch after everything, then you’re crazy. ”  Still smiling, she brings her arms up and folds them over her chest.  “ I think I can handle sharing the bed with you---If you’re comfortable with it, obviously, but I know it hasn’t been easy, so... I understand if you’d rather sleep out here. ”

oof. it got one season, that’s rough.

IT WAS A MID SERIES SUMMER THING, something or another. made for one season, but they could have extended it for a second if it got picked up again. those 13 episodes will slaughter you though.
