Grant had never been so happy to see Terry in his life. It’d been a tense walk back to Walter’s, his dad quieter than normal, and after his fuck up with Yeet Grant hadn’t wanted to do much talking either.

Terry greeted him with a head nod and Grant returned it, dropping onto the floor next to him, both watching as Henry hugged his boys (Sparrow embracing the hug while Lark mostly tolerated it). Ron had waved at Terry when he walked in and Terry had waved back, a genuine smile on his face. Grant hadn’t seen Nick and Glenn greet each other, but he figured they must have; probably.

“So, how did it go with Yeet?” Terry asked after Grant briefly recapped what had happened in Ball’s Deep. 

Grant sighed, shaking his head. “He turned me down.”

“What?” Terry formed a fist. “I’ll punch him.”

“Terry, no.” Grant pulled his knees to his chest and leaned into them. “It’s not his fault.”

“Well it sure the fuck isn’t your’s either,” Terry exclaimed and Grant couldn’t help smiling. “What?”

“Have I ever told you you’re my best friend?”

“Fuck yeah I am.” Terry held out his fist and Grant knocked his against it.
