I think Slade might've been overcompensating when he went after the Titans after Grant died.
Like, he was willing to let Joey die in order to keep his word, and it cost Joey his voice, Slade his marriage and his eye plus Adeline trying to kill him? Alright then, when his other son actually does die, he's going to make it very very clear exactly how much his son means to him by killing everybody even remotely responsible for Grant's death, including the group of teenagers Grant was trying to kill in the first place.
