You may have seen this post or article running around about 'what if the insurrection act is invoked' I'm not even reblogging it because its too long to trust that most people will read to the bottom.

It is not wrong, in that its speculation, so maybe yes, it will come true. If Trump invokes the insurrection act, and then oversteps its bounds by sending military to places where local authorities have not called for assistance, then calls general martial law, oversteps those bounds, and throughout all of it, the military - not his sycophants - decide to follow along, then yes, this article is a decent breakdown. But that's a lot of big steps. The source is an anonymous blogger on Medium.

I'd be more worried that he gets the recc to do it, and then graciously declines to do so, because then he can use it as a constant threat against anyone he wants, while eroding the vigilance that will be present for the next month or so. It's more in his playbook.

My thing for those worried about Starscream becoming a villain in ES is that you have to accept that he is multifaceted, and if being a villain or being morally ambiguous at best impacts you that much to the point where you stop liking his character or you think it's ooc, then I don’t think you fully understand his character. And you have to accept that he is a morally gray person to appreciate him.

But at the same time, ES is filled with plots that have in depth complexity and take us for a ride. Starscream doing something ‘evil’ because the summary says so doesn’t necessarily mean he is going to be an evil character. As what is evil for others may not actually be evil to the Decepticons. Star is also the Decepticon leader in Earthspark, so there is a chance what he is doing may be for the good of the Decepticons as he sees it, but may wreck havoc for others.

And then ofc, he might just be evil, he might do something evil, and it’s revealed that he is meant to be evil. Do I want him to be a one dimensional evil person…Naur not really. But if that’s it then that’s it, and I will still love him regardless. Transfomrers Earthspark has already given us a shit ton of complexity toward Starscream, and we were given a very multifaceted perception of him that I absolutely adore.

I also don’t think it’s bad to delve into aspects of him that show us why he became a Deception, and show us that a lot of his problematic tendencies existed before he was a con/before he met Megatron. And that’s okay. If you want Starscream to have a redemption arc you, which I do think ES might push, you also have to acknowledge that he is not a good person by default and never has been. He has to change. I don’t doubt, ES will expand on that.

I for one really like Starscream being able to be multifaceted, if written right. I like him to have empathy and nuance woven into his narrative, but I also like when we are reminded that is a villain and can be evil and can be a villain. If ES is a show that preaches changes and forgiveness then that’s just something we’re gonna have to experience with Starscream and we’re gonna see him be evil if we want a change. Or hell we may just see him be evil, either way I love him.

but more importantly, give the show and the writing a chance before you shit on it. We have a month, next month we'll see!! so be chill

A story is more about the journey then the destination. Flat conclusions aren't fun for anyone, especially with the first chapter. I can promise that its conclusion will not be as you described.

Regarding Sagaverse's direction, we wanted to focus on a different take than prior works in the fandom. We wanted to get in our own angles and source the core of their original concepts at least. The end result is that it won't be general fanon nor canon accurate. Sagaverse is its own fan-driven work.

i get that you like him. maybe he got you through hard times. i get that it’s tough to remember this kinda thing. but you gotta keep saying it to yourself.

thomas isn’t your friend.

thomas doesn’t know you. he doesn’t have a vested interest in helping you. he won’t suddenly be your best bud, and nothing you can do will change that.

you cannot help him. you cannot make his day better. you cannot shield him from harm or criticism, because you cannot affect him. because he is not a baby who needs to be protected.

he is a grown man. he is a famous, cis, white grown man.

he is not being attacked. he is not being bullied. he is being held accountable because he is a grown man with a team of grown adults and he should do better.

i’m tired of seeing people rush to his defense when he’s criticized. i’m tired of seeing people devastated the moment he’s less than perfect. i’m tired of serious issues being called drama and discourse and just being mean.

thomas is a creator who has made mistakes. thomas has made mistakes. everyone makes mistakes, and that’s not to excuse his, but it’s to provide context. every person you know will let you down someday, because there is no one in this world that’s close to perfect.

and that’s not an attack on you. please don’t let yourself feel like you’re being criticized, too. you’re not. none of this is a reflection on you. you can still like tss, you are still be a good person, nobody is trying to hurt you. it’s okay.

thomas should not be your idol. thomas should not be your sole source of happiness. thomas should not be the most important person in your life. thomas should not be anything more than a creator you admire.

because even if you’ve decided he hasn’t let you down yet--if you’ve decided his mistakes aren’t that bad--one day, he’s gonna. one day he’s going to do something you personally don’t like. or one day you’ll find you can’t keep from criticizing him anymore.

and the longer you put that off, the longer you bury yourself in worship for him, the more it’s gonna hurt.

take a deep breath. please take a second to breathe. please take a second to think. please go outside, take breaks, take care of yourself. please give yourself time. 

separate yourself from the things you love. really examine how u think about ccs in your head. keep yourself from being hurt. thomas has no obligation to do that for you--you’re the one who keeps yourself safe.

so keep yourself safe and keep yourself honest.
