Here we have some worldbuilding doodiedads, primarily featuring critters. Bestiary stuff. Background noise.
Centaurs are widely considered extinct. Nobody who was alive to see them is particularly sad about it. My general idea is that the used to stalk and terrorize early nomadic humans, but the domestication of the horse leveled the field enough to about wipe 'em out. Naturally, there are those who seek them out, hoping to find some remnant or otherwise resurrect them. It's a controversial stance.
Sphinx tend to live in colonies, but will leave on solo or small group pilgrimages to obtain more Lore. Some have wings! Some do not. They have a pretty varied morphology. More importantly I'm very excited to design a smilodon sphinx. This is my galaxy brain moment.
Dragons are not naturally occurring and must be created on an individual basis. They are typically the end point of a curse, self inflicted or otherwise. Dragon eggs aren't really a thing here.
Unicorns exist, to the detriment of anyone who discovers this firsthand.
Merfolk probably have the most variation in in body plan, much like fish themselves. This is before we start talking the ones with two tails or other extra bits and bobs.
