(Being clear, I TRIED to attach english souces so people around the world can confirm that everything I write here is true. However, most of them would be in Spanish since I'm using a venezuelan newspaper that is totally imparcial and, thus, explains the truth. I'll translate the titles, don't you worry. And also thanks to cybergirlmind for helping me)

It's been three months since I wrote this post, explaining why were we protesting in Venezuela against the government of Nicolás Maduro. What I'm about to do now is point out what has been happening (and I say "has been happening" because I know it won't stop) in my beloved country. As always I ask you to pass this information so we can spread the truth.

Death toll: Even though the source says 31, it was posted in March. There's now (and I may miss a lot more) 41 deceased in Venezuela related to the protests, at least 30 were students and from them 18 died from a head shot (and 12 were underage). 841 were injured in violent clashes and more than two thousand people have been detained.

Censure: Since February we can't sintonize NTN24 channel because it was blocked (Venezuela: Mass Media blackout) by the government, immediately censuring its YouTube's channel too (offering I as a witness, videos won't load no matter how much you wait). Needless to say, they played victim, reclaiming that "International Media distorts the reality". As a matter of fact, they tried to block CNN International's channel (Nicolás Maduro threatens CNN International to block its signal in Venezuela) on Tv and they did expulse their periodists from the country. At the end, they didn't but a Venezuelan periodist, Fernando del Rincón, was blocked last Friday: he can't report from or about Venezuela. (HRW condemns Fernando del Rincón's censorship from the National Government). Also, webpage DolarToday and relatives, in which you could check how devaluated the Bolivar (our currency) was, is still blocked, back from Hugo Chavez's Government.

Political Prisoners: Leopoldo López, one of the leaders of the Oposition and supporter of the prostest from the very beginning, surrendered the Army Force that was looking for him. His charges? Allegedly provoking violence during protests and the death of two officers (and, people believe, conspiracy with the CIA. Yes, it's true, just look up on the commentary section in source). His surrender is explained by, as he said, "If my jailing serves to awaken a people, serves to awaken Venezuela ... then it will be well worth the infamous imprisonment imposed upon me directly, with cowardice". It's not only him, but two other mayors (Two mayors detained in one night) became under arrest, just because they were opositors that supported the protests (but not the violence).

Terror in Universities: The headquearters of Apuneg (University of Guayana's Teacher Association) in Puerto Ordaz was vandalized by alleged students supporters of the Government. (They burn headquarters of Apuneg and assault teachers). URU (reported unusual situation in URU) was assaulted by Army Forces, who threw tear gas inside while students were having classes.

"Allies": UNASUR (South American Nation's Union) rejects every appeal that goes against the Government of Nicolas Maduro (Unasur rejects USA's initiative to sanction venezuelan's officials) by votation (because neither Colombia nor Chile nor Peru agree with them). No matter what they found an excuse for every appeal.

Airlines are leaving: The Government owns a loan that they have been excusing the payment for almost a year. There are no tickets and currently airlines from Italia and Germany are leaving because of that. People fear we are approximating to a future with no air conection to Venezuela. BUT there is no excuse. The barrel of pretol is almost 100$ each. and still we don't have dollars, how?

I want to add as a personal opinion (and maybe speaking for us all) that I'm scared. I'm scared of what is going to happen, or if we get to somewhere. This isn't the country we dreamed of, this isn't the Government Venezuela deserves. Venezuela is a rich, beautiful country, with the most beautiful landscape and a mix of cultures. And now is done to nothing. My country is the slave of superior countries. Look what they did to Venezuela, look what they did to us.

It's sad that people is leaving the country because it's impossible to live here. You need at least three minimum wage to buy basic needs for a family. The annoucenment of a baby isn't a cause of glee anymore, but sad and stress because you can't find formula and pampers. My grandma is mad with a relative because she is pregnant and doesn't know where to find the supplies. There aren't tampons anymore, for God's sake. It's sad that I'm dreaming my future out of here because I know I won't be able to form a family and work what I like here.

And with airlines leaving, I'm afraid I'll be stuck. I'm afraid I'll have to take a boat so I can leave and arrive at Aruba and then take a plane. I'm afraid I won't be able to construct the future I want because of them.

I'm just....I'm afraid. We are.

Before I start speaking (or writing, tho), I want you to know that most of the links I'll use as sources may be in Spanish, because it's information given by our newspapers. Sorry for that, but I'll do my best in translating the most important quote on the source as well linking that quote with the article in the newspaper.

On February 12th venezuelan students took over the streets in order to protest pacifically against our current Government. Nevertheless (though not surprisingly) their response over the protest was with violence. Before going on the events, I'll explain why are we protesting?

Since the last year our consumer prices have been increasing. Only in 2013 it reached over 56 percent, making it impossible for our country to import and get foreign currency. Not only that, the inflation also had increased the prices from different electrodomestics, clothes, books and even food. Our President, Nicolas Maduro, had introduced a new and more complex system of currency control, but experts and critics says it's another devaluation of our own currency in disguise.

Another good reason is the shortages of basic goods. Venezuelans HAVE to get in lines so we can obtain toilet paper, sugar, flour, chicken, butter and our dearest Harina Pan, corn flour we use to make Arepas. We are almost fighting to get food and thoroughly thinking what are we going to use when there is no more toilet paper. What is more, Maduro is imposing a lower prices control even though the inflation, making impossible for the supermarkets to keep full inventories.

And, the worst reason, is the violent crimes. Venezuelans are incapable of going to the streets without exposing their lives. With the only propose of burglarizing a venezuelan slaughter another everyday. A recent study put the homicides' rates 79 per 100.000, making Venezuela one of the most insecure and violent countries in the World. The murder of our Miss, Mónica Spear, a venezuelan who deeply loved this country, just woke our senses and maybe that's when we said we can't take this shit anymore. This is all I can summarize from all the facts that made us to take the streets this last week.

Trying to stop us, claiming that we are being violent, the Government sent their Army Forces to apprehend the students. By that meaning the own Government is ignoring the laws from the Venezuelan Constitution (and I'll summarize):

Art. 61. Every person has the right for freedom of thought and manifest it, unless it constitutes a crime.

The Army, the people who are suppose to defend their equals, the venezuelans, those who are in danger, are kicking and striking the students (this is a youtube video so be careful), holding them under false charges, shooting them (90 under arrest and 40 gunshot wound), and even murdering them.

What is worst from this situation is that the Government is trying to cover it. No Venezuelan television media is reporting the protest as it never happened. An international tv channel, NTN24, was pulled out from Venezuelan TV because according to politics it was "distortioning the information" when all it was doing was telling the truth. Not only that, and as Twitter just confirmed, the Government disabled the picture and video service from the social network so we couln't see and pass to each other all the crimes they are committing for almost a day. They are saying to the world that the Army Force don't use weapons towards students (If you saw the video, you can even hear the gunshots in the distance).

I know you can't do anything to help, but please PASS THIS. Any reblog can help, because what venezuelans need is the world to know that what we are living is not Democracy, but a covered Dictatorship. They are trying to hide it so they can get away with it.

And we can't let them hide that fact as nothing.
