I think the notion that 'originals' are more valuable than 'copies' must come from the meaning of nostalgia.  

"In simulation, nostalgia assumes all meaning."  I like to play around with this quote, but right now I realize that this explains why people value originality.  The desire for things to be as people remembered and first valued exists because meaning is destroyed in simulation, in multiplicity.  People are implicitly aware that meaning is destroyed in simulation because they know they will care less about something they have already seen, they know that later iterations will make the past appear irrelevant, and less valuable.  People want to preserve what they value.  It's as simple as applying survivalist logic to people's values.  Of course people want to keep what they like, of course they don't want things to change for fear of losing what they know well. "Of course," we say. and it's this dismissive discourse, or rather non-discourse, that simulation creates in our lives.  All humans want to survive, and thus we all want our present situations, thoughts, and feelings to survive.  And because all humans want this, it goes undiscussed, becomes unconscious, like the heartbeat all living people have and easily forget about.  No wonder "momento mori" is even a proverb.  It's so easy to say "Of course we die, but so what? Everyone dies and people die everyday."  Meaning is tied directly to the way we handle objects, concepts, what have you.  

Those who realize true simulation know that the value of the original is nostalgia and not true meaning can easily dismiss fascination with the original, and also fascination with the copy.  

so, lol like 2/3 years after i saw nisemonogatari I can answer that I agree most with Oshino Meme and not with Kaiki Deishuu 

Knowledge that preference of original or copy is fascination, seduction, and obsession with one half of the whole picture creates the apathetic nihilism that Baudrillard describes in Simulacra.  

so it would be more believable if Meme had Kaiki's usual despondent character

Similarly this explains why sarcasm, jade, and apathy appear so frequently in today's common literature and conversation. Based on the idea that meaning only exists with distinction, if everyone becomes apathetic there will be a point of reversion where apathy disappears in a burst of rebellion, precisely because apathy would have no clear meaning in an apathetic world.  

Maybe the question for politics and human rights is: "what is the human limit of deterrence?"  Is there possible a system so powerful as to deter its own collapse indefinitely because its human subjects will never have the power to over turn its exception handling?

Exception itself would lose meaning in such a world.  All would be known.  Life would become a true game, deterministic and reversible.  That would be a uptopia or a dystopia, and is probably unachievable by human creators.  

so barring subjugation by a higher intelligence, whether as slave or pet, humans as we know them might never achieve a society good enough for all it's members, and so they separate into groups of likeness and culture, until the Earth was divided.  And without physical space to expand, we expand into hyperspaces.

last night i had a dream that me and maddie momoroos were on ointb and we were buddy-buddy with nicky nichols which was cool and busy p for some reason was a corrections officer idk he was there ANYWAY they were opening up this new floor in this prison called like "the party floor" i cant exactly remember but it was for staff only and nicky had the BRILLIANT idea to sneak in there on the opening night of it with us and so we did while nobody was looking but our plan failed and nicky & maddie made a run for it and ditched me so i was stuck on the party floor hiding under a bunch of pillows (dont ebven ask where we got the pillows i dont know) and i thought that i was going to make it without being caught but towards the end who else but busy p walks over to the pile of pillows and he just drops a bottle of sprite and makes some kind of pun about it (wow) and tells me to go back downstairs and after that debacle we started dating in secret and wow. it was surreal let me tell you
