No, I never said that.
I said I thought that some things definitely suggested that it could have been, but I think there is also quite a bit of evidence that suggests that it wasn't. I don't know, honestly.
I'd lean towards no, because relationships with co-stars are far from ideal because of what is happening with them now. For whatever reason they are not in a public relationship (broken up, private, working it out...) and it is affecting their images. If they had stayed in a relationship they probably would have had much less turmoil and in my opinion more positive publicity. They knew when they entered the relationship (public or private) that it would most likely end like this way if it wasn't VERY serious, so in my opinion or if it were me I wouldn't have had the relationship unless it was very serious. If it was fake the end was inevitable, so I don't think it was the smartest option.
But like I said, there is evidence that I believe points at it being publicity driven. And I'm not in the entertainment business, so I don't know what their reps and publicists might have been thinking...
