Hi PS! I hope you've been well. I haven't written to you in so long but your blog is one of maybe two reasons I still have tumblr on my phone. Star Plus started airing IPKKND again and I've been rewatching it, of course. I read some of your recaps from time to time and it adds so much to the experience. I also reread some of the one shots and then this Charade update, which is such polished, engrossing writing. I'm in awe of your talent and your constant empathy here. Take care. Lots of love.

You liked the Charade updates??!! It’s been such a journey!! Look at where they are now, it blows my mind that this is the same story that started so painfully. Ugh they’re so cute, I love them.

Hello! Just wanted to let you know that I am ALSO trash and completely willing to give in to Kasauti 2.0. Earlier I was just going to check it out because I like Erica (everything except the way she says Auntyji) but ever since I've read that Parth is Anurag, I'm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like I'll have to be obsessed with it now. He's definitely not the dude in the promo though. Also, I kinda feel bad for both of them because an Ekta show means 7-8 years of fuckery, minimum.

Hi five to being co-passengers of this trash boat. Although I stopped watching original KZK quite early! Maybe sometime after first leap and I am quite sceptical this time around as well!! But I quite liked the show in its initial days (might have had a tiny crush on Cezanne Khan back in the days as well). So no harm in watching this one either.

OMG I get you about Erica’s Auntyji…hahahaha. I am keeping my fingers crossed about Parth Samthaan being Anurag. I am lowkey annoyed with Ekta that she is keeping this as suspense just to increase the hype!! I can’t believe the news till the time there is an official announcement. Considering there has been bit of a bad blood b/w Ekta and Parth in the past. And he just doesn’t seem the kind of guy who would act in a daily soap for 4-5 years straight!! But who knows?!! 

Hopefully our wishes come true!!

Hello! I was on vacation and didn't realize I'd missed a Charade update, so when you posted the new one I had 2 chapters to read together, which was such a delight. Your writing is such a delight! I live in India and there's this channel Star Utsav that shows old SP shows and IPKKND started today (only they're calling it Rabba Ve???????), and I swear that now when I watch it I feel hugely influenced by your discerning analysis. It's like watching a whole new show. Thank you and hope you're well.

They have the promos up on Youtube as well. How interesting. My only suggestion is that they’re hoping to capture a slightly different audience this time around. Kind of like when the covers of books change mid-series to capture a different audience. They have Shrenu Parikh promoting it as well.

Hello! Happy new year! I wish you lots of love, luck, and good health in 2018. I read the latest chapter of Charade on my desk at work and had to step out during the "did you like the clothes/kheer" part because I live and die for that kind of angst. You are such a brilliant, evocative writer. As someone who writes and edits for a living, I rarely write outside of work, but your writing not only makes me want to re-read it often but also inspires me to write. Thank you for that. Hello! I hope you're well. I read all 36 chapters of Rishtaa in one sitting today, and I'm blown away by your phenomenal writing. Very few people can write everything well - happy scenes, sad scenes, romance, intimacy, family drama - and you're certainly one of them. When, and if, you choose to continue the story, I'll be sure to read and re-read it. It's incredible how you remember so much about the characters and yet have the ability to make them your own. Hello! I've been a follower of your blog for the last couple of months, and I'm a big fan. The recent rewrite of episode 319 of IPKKND that you reblogged was PHENOMENAL. While watching the show I always felt like we were in Khushi's head a lot more than Arnav's (probably because his is way messier and darker), and your interpretation of his thoughts and feelings was so insightful, it was almost like he is your creation. Congratulations on having such an amazing blog! I love your writing. xoxo

I agree! It’s funny because IPKKND is Arnav’s story and even told from Arnav’s POV but it’s heavily biased towards Khushi. In fact, all the 4Lions shows I’ve seen are about the men but biased towards the women (because the audience is predominantly female? I dno). 

Khushi gets monologues when she has conversations with Devi Maiyya or talks to herself where her motives and thoughts are presented to the audience. Arnav has relatively few scenes where he narrates what he’s thinking. The serial relies on the flashbacks and other visual techniques to tell us what Arnav is thinking but I think it’s much harder for the audience to access.
