SOOOOOO THIS JUST HAPPENED

@thetiedyesheep finished the thing I commissioned!!!

And I spontaneously finished the next chapter of the fic! The power of art, man...

Okay, I did it, I finally did it-

I MADE PLIERSUN A REFERENCE SHEET

this took SO long- I've never made one before!

Well- here it is-

This took me 25 hoursss, and several months to actually get through

If it weren't for the lovely people in various servers, or my irl friends, giving me the attention and motivation to draw, I wouldn't have been able to make so much progress as of late!

In the first place, my son, @llamacakeyummy , suggested I make one so they could commission a certain artist to draw our characters kissing- (long story)- I wanted to do right by them :3💓

And special thanks to my besties ( @orcenstilldraws & @cerealfish ), boyfriend ( @homicicalbunbun ), collab partner ( @thetiedyesheep ), and alllll my friends across various servers for giving my poor narc butt attention for me to make progress!!!

I was always really good with letter art :3 this is an improved version of the banner on the @ask-pliersun blog- I'll be changing that soon :3🛹💥

Yeahhhhhh I saw 4 main colors and thought it'd be so fitting to put it in a little tikes xylophone-piano shape!!! It's super cute-

I like to add a lot of detail on his exoskeleton that shows how tense and damaged he is :v

He's got a very strong grip, to the point where when he holds himself and crosses his arms, he often clenches them without meaning to! Leaving little dents. Same thing when clenching his fists!

I also brought in the canon design element of the dcas bells being attached *through* the ribbon, embedded into their exoskeleton! Angst!

The easiest part for him was getting rid of the slippers bells-

Funny thing is, I couldn't decide if I wanted him to have a straight neck (so he can stare down ominously with just his pupils), or the uncanny double jointed neck the canon model has. So I chose both! The first length of the neck can tuck itself into the faceplate! This is also how the sky hook dissapears! Very nifty!

Finally, we have the states of his pupils, which change depending on mood or setting.

As seen in a previous close up, his rays are made of felt he can move on his own, flexible and soft (safe for little hands!), and those flower petals rays often pair with the dilated eyes. He adores the little humans he was made for :3

I think it's funny how most of the image is my messy handwriting and then there's just- E N T H U S E D. This is one of his murder-faces, engine equivalent of a heart racing in his chest. Adrenaline!

The neutral eyes are different from the calm ones, because he observes everything in the neutral state (he likes to staaare), and his emotions are unclear. He's just very focused, yet idle. Meanwhile he's likely drawing or cleaning alone in the calm state.

Aaand one of my favorite features about him! The slidey teeth! His teeth are welded to one solid plate, that can slide open and closed with enough force to break bo- I mean, chew food! The inside of his mouth is a hollow, shallow compartment. For accepting snacks :)

To clarify, his pupils are barely visible and white against a cloudy-white sclera. They're mostly seen upclose when he's bending away from the light.
