Jasper wasn’t prepared for the evening to go as awry as it had. He’d had plans to go check in on the resident Sad Bitch, go home and then maybe pass out for a few hours before work the next morning. Instead, all hell had broken loose, just when he’d let his guard down enough to have a drink with another familiar.
One by one, high ranking council members and pack leaders dropped across the ballroom - and even outside, beyond the doors, further than he was able to see. The gambling event was now an active crime scene - and his night just got a whole lot busier.
He had to go find Conner, to help him lock down the scene, but first, he had to take stock of who was down and who might need medical attention. Councilman Len had been one of the first to collapse and watching Bri react to that had almost been disastrous. Bri didn’t take it well - trying to force away Len’s own family. Jasper was confident, however, that Bri would be fine, despite the drywall bath she was taking thanks to Percy’s quick reaction, but he didn’t quite know what to make of October’s sudden altruism.
From the sounds of it, Simon had had to rescue Lucas from the outdoor pool, after Lucas had also collapsed. He was rather proud the boy had managed to rescue the man and keep a case of suspected poisoning from turning into a murder.
Miss Croft had collapsed in front of one of Faerune’s most capable neurosurgeons so Jasper decided to leave that one in Doctor Mahajan’s capable hands. While he had no doubt the elder vampire would be fine, Miss Croft scared the shit out of him anyway and he didn’t want the trouble. He could make inquiries later.
Making his way toward the doors, Jasper spied Sutton trying to assist Wisteria Addler outside. Jasper made a note to talk to them later too, but he did take out his phone to call for medical, considering Wisteria was bleeding from his mouth.
Spying no one else affected so far, Jasper went off to hunt for Conner - determined to do things right.
50 different questions played on a loop in the back of his head. Poisoning. What kind of poison affected all sorts of supernaturals? Was it poisoning? Was it a curse? Who would have done it?
Jasper had a funny feeling he was going to end the night with far more questions than answers.
