As you can probably tell! This update isn't quite like the others;; I've given it quite a bit of thought (A few months really) and have opted to change my work to how I actually draw in my comfort. I'll go into this a bit more under the cut!
TLDR: Updates here forward will probably not be colored and the style may be 'rougher' and not as cute or pretty as it has been prior! I hope this is alright! Thank you for your time!

I've spoken on this lightly in the past, but I actually have a great difficulty with the style that I've used for past pages. It takes much more mental effort and is a far longer process for getting things done.
I am a horror artist first and formost, I draw monsters and skeletons, bones and organs, paint backgrounds and objects with ease. Doing a more 'simple' style with less detailed in the lines, that isn't something I can do easily and I find it fascinating! I adore others work like that! I just find it :( difficult.
This is why updates have been so very sparse, I have been trying to work in a 'kinder' or 'more appealing' style overall for the last handful of years due to many comments of my work while I ran other blogs through 2013ish-2017 - So, I tried to change my work to be more ''clean and anime'' or however it may be called, and as you can tell! I am not very good at it! Despite practicing for so long it just isn't in my wheelhouse! (It is not -bad- of course, but It is not my forte)
Same with color. I'm colorblind so trying to color each page was always difficult to figure out 'are these the same color?? do these conflict?? does this look nice??' -- I am used to doing lineart basically as it's own thing. I'll be doing less color pages unless it's something important, Or you may see me adjusting the next few updates trying to find a balance on how I will be using colors (Or Tones).
For now, these pages are still kind of similar to the other style, and I can tell that the more I let my anxiousness (Of my Actual Style being called 'ugly' or 'disgusting' like it was before) go, it will probably change.
My forte being 'horror' also brings to note that this comic as a whole will involve darker themes [violence / gore / NOT Sexual Content] So if that is something you are uncomfortable with please keep yourself safe first and foremost!

The sun came through the window with such a gentle warmth, for the moments I lay there with my eyes closed I thought 'Is it over? Am I done?' - But the sounds of music, a soft gentle tune, hummed by a quiet voice around me; She brought my consciousness back from the dark.
For the first time in my life - while hearing that song - I no longer felt...alone.

Technically! This is not the 'whole' of the update and I apologize for that! But, I will be making some small changes to the content for time - as I do not want to compromise like this again in the amount of 'pages' per update, I will however limit full colorwork to important events/specific things! (So the remaining 5 pages will follow that! as here forward for all Updates)
So from these pages forward, you'll be getting my linework/tones! :D
\o/ Enjoy the colors though! I asked my wife for assistance with colorwork at the time [November] on the first page, and then I did the others with the new color swatches (as im colorblind)
The Title Card is my favourite though and I am proud of it o/

Smaller details of this time are lost to me; the pain ebbing through my skin as I was carried away, the sounds of their voices in worry and panic for a stallion they didn’t know- I think it’s that concern they had for me that helped me to keep my fleeting consciousness...
...The rest of my time with them would be something I still, to this day, view as my own neglect - my own fault - for all the things that would come to befall them.

[[And like that! We’re actually getting somewhere! :D Thank you for your support through the ages of me trying to get time aside to work on things - and now that I have it I am very very excited to work!
I’ll also note (each update I’ll remind) that the Story from this point forward will have Ask Interactions (To a Degree) It’ll make sense next update! - I ramble a bit so here’s a readmore;
Only in certain times will other OC be involved [Townships/Certain Events];; The through line of the story is locked into Chapters, with intermissions that are usually fully interactable however! :D
The Askblog itself I also state is separate from the Story Pages, So sometimes I will use Asks for General Posts - Or I will hoard them for specific moments and pages [which I’ve honestly been doing for awhile!]
I also will state an early content warning here now that things are starting, that this story will have dark themes; Violence, Blood, Body Horror, Mentions of Abuse, and Probably other types of darker themes like that;; there are NO Sexual aspects to this story however! I may make horror/dark content, but I don’t usually work with sexual themes! :D
But yeah, everything within the story is designed with a specific reason for what you could call ‘late game’. I do hope you enjoy the ages of planning spent to make this whole thing!

While it is a comic format, I will say that the text added at the post of each Page (Tay’s speaking up above) is just as important >:3c)
Each bolt struck my skin as a blade, potent in it’s violence, in the separation of flesh and bone. I was lucky he did not hit anything vital - though, did he truly miss?
