PLOT TWIST Jessamine comes back from the dead because of Delilah and her first words for Corvo are "how dare you love the man responsible for my death" (she doesn't mean it, it's Delilah's fault but neither Corvo nor Daud know that)

Corvo would be absolutely devastated — overjoyed to have her back, of course, but the Heart had always been supportive of his and Daud’s relationship before; and although her return knocked them both for a six because, *holy shit what do*, Corvo had kinda-sorta-maybe hoped for a happy ending for all three of them? But now Jess is accusing them of dishonouring her memory and Daud of having planned to kill her all along to have Corvo to himself, and it’s tearing him apart. Which is not helped by the fact that…

Daud is being a self-sacrificing bastard, AGAIN, and although he does stand up for himself and refutes her claims that he wanted her dead, and although he does want to fight to stay with Corvo, he is THIS CLOSE to giving Corvo the choice of whether Daud should stay or leave Dunwall. Because he’s a dumb idiot. All his guilt for not being able to save Jess is rearing its ugly head, and no matter how much he loves Corvo and Emily, he doesn’t always love himself enough to fight for what he wants. Especially not against the mother of Corvo’s child.

Speaking of: Emily is getting her head done in by all of this drama; thankfully she’s old enough now to be heard and *obeyed*, even by her dads. She’s the one who insists that the Void must have corrupted her mother’s heart, difficult though that is to both suggest and swallow when the Outsider — helpful, for once — suggests something of the sort to Corvo. It takes them until the Coup to figure out why; that Delilah’s behind it and that she’d sent Jessamine back into the world to break their family apart.

Jessamine remains hidden from the public after her return, and Corvo and Daud reach an uneasy truce with her. The longer she’s there, the more Jessamine fights against the near possession-like hold Delilah has on her, and she wins often enough to shackle the dark thoughts Delilah poisoned her heart with.

When the Coup happens, all four of them flee, and it’s a huge relief to everyone when, in Karnaca, they finally find a way of breaking Delilah’s spell. When Emily retakes the throne, Jessamine’s return is still kept a secret at first, but she decides to move to Serkonos with Daud and Corvo, where people are content to look less closely at who’s living in the Grand Palace as long as there’s enough food for everyone.

Plot Twist: You and Tohru are actually secret agents assigned to keep an eye on the detective!

It was all part of the plan. Ever since Detective Narukami was send to Inaba, the higher up that was helping him knew he was up to something since that day he shot a man in cold blood. Narukami however said he was fighting in self defense that she had no proof that he murder the man. That only made the women even more anger. For his careless act the only punishment he received was being send to Inaba. To the women that wasn’t good enough, but without proof she couldn’t do nothing. So there was one thing left to do.

Frame the son of a bitch!

So she send Tohru Adachi and Mariko Kusumi to spy on the detective. Two of her best agents to get anything on this heartless killer. It was Tohru’s idea to go see his uncle in Inaba and acting as a student of the town’s high school. Mariko went under the code name Marie. She stay in the shadows, following him. While Tohru only got close to the man himself and only act like a kid who was a loner. It was even Tohru’s idea to act like he was going to become his accomplice once the detective trusts him.

It was all part of the plan the women made. She only wants revenge on the man who murder her brother.

PLOT TWIST: Mac and Helena ruin their own political prospects because of murder and decide to pull a Bonnie-and-Clyde instead.

She wouldn’t tell anyone that it was easy to kill, because it wasn’t. The hands that had held the gun shook, and her stomach had lurched when she’d pulled the trigger. Afterwards she’d been pale, curled up on Mac’s bed, and if she thought about it for too long, her hands began to shake again. But it had been easier than she expected, in the end. More importantly, she didn’t regret it.

Neither, she knew, did Mac. Even through the terror and reaction, there’d been something so satisfying about seeing their so-called mentor in a pool of his own blood on the floor.

Helena linked her fingers with Mac’s as they sat silently together. His warm hand kept her grounded, she thought, and when she’d held it long enough, the analytical part of her whirred to life - except with the flavor of something more vitally emotional pushing it along.

"I want my own destiny," she told him, and tipped her head back to look him in the eyes. "I want to become something they never thought Alienor d’Aquitaine would ever be."

PLOT TWIST: Zoe learns she has relatives from her father's side after all and they've been looking for their missing but still beloved son/cousin/nephew all these years.

He made them promise not to look for him, and as long as he got in touch - once a year, on their sainted mother’s birthday - they kept to that. The contact was always brief; while Mikael had stayed on the good side of the law, becoming a police detective, and Anastasia had just married and had children, Georgios Kattalakis had never been able to ever approach the straight and narrow.

It was safest to keep the contact short and to the point.

One year, though, he didn’t call. There was no postcard, and after weeks passed and they both knew it was just Georgios being late, Anastasia and Mikael found themselves whispering to each other late into the night. He could be dead. That was the most likely scenario, really, considering the life he’d led. But still, Anastasia pointed out - he was the youngest, the baby, the one who’d never known their father. They should look.

Mikael was retired by then, but he still had his contacts, and he started to dig - but it was as if his brother never existed. The last record of him, official and unofficial, was in reference to an assassination attempt gone wrong in Serajevo during the war. That in itself was too strange, and enough to keep Mikael looking, even when intellectually he knew there was no way Georgios was alive.

He had been alive, they’d had communication from him, but for all intents and purposes it was if he’d died in 1994. 

Mikael looked until his own death, at the age of 81, and by then his own sons were adults who could take up the mantle for him. Stephanos did the brunt of the work; he was, his aunt always said, the most like his uncle Georgios, and while his brother Nikolas had settled down and gotten married - and had a lovely little angel named Chloe - and his sister Selene had done the same, Stephanos was a bit of a lone wolf, and hunting for the remnants of his lost uncle was as good an excuse as any not to find something steady to do.

Maybe that was the reason he found the Deck.

Unlike Georgios, he didn’t wander into Heart territory. And he didn’t wander into Spade territory, where his cousin had defected to. Stephanos found himself in Club territory, and it was only after he spoke to the King there that he headed in the right direction. 

When he first saw his cousin, he thought he must have the wrong girl. She was too elegant, too delicate-looking to be a Kattalakis woman - their family had always and would always carry the signs of having clawed themselves out of poverty. But then she looked up at him, with eyes as sharp and clear and strong a blue as the sky over the Aegean Sea, and Stephanos knew. This was no delicate little rich girl who would fall down in the face of hardship, because those were his aunt Anastasia’s eyes.

They were his, as well.

Plot Twist! -- Tess finds out Avery is yet another one of her half-siblings. (I hit Muzy with the other side of this so it seems only fair)

You gotta laugh or you'd cry.

Tess couldn't even be angry at Marc. Astrid had wanted it kept secret and he'd respected her wishes. Probably glad not to be saddled with support payments, the uncharitable part of her thought.

Her heart went out to Matthew Hamilton. She hoped he, at least, knew before now. But what on earth could she say to Avery? It's one thing to grow up knowing your father was a no-account waste like Marc Bowen. It was quite another to discover the man you'd always believed was your father...wasn't.Tess waited a day. Avery probably didn't want to be reminded of their new relationship. But they had to get it over with eventually. Make it sharp and fast, like pulling off a band aid. In, out and all done in privacy where the gossip hounds couldn't see.  Tess grabbed the bottle. Whiskey made most things better.Avery would either laugh or hit her when she handed her the bottle and exclaimed, "At least we never dated?"

PLOT TWIST: Elisha learned of a vital clue about Andrew's assassination but didn't realise it at the time and thus lost his chance to prevent it. (Whether or not he realises that after everything went down is up to you.)

He ignored them at the time, the whispers that he heard one night while slipping past the Spade guards. They were indistinct, from a little used room. One of the words was assassination, though he didn’t here anything about who. He didn’t strain to recognize the voices that were speaking, though he knew one was a man and one was a woman.

He was six years out of the game, and he had no intention of getting back in. If the kings and queens of the Deck didn’t have their own informants, then they were just asking for it. Elisha was not sticking his nose in.

But then of course, it was Andrew. Elisha had been blind and deaf to everything when he’d found out, walking out of his studio and finding an isolated hill to sit on. He knew Andrew had his informants; he’d tripped over them himself a time or two.

He hadn’t realized what complete shit they were.

And so there was no choice anymore, he thought. None of the Tens were really prepared for the kind of cat and mouse games that were ahead; Argine had no good options to choose from when it came to this kind of underground war. She’d likely choose one of the soldier Tens instead, and any of them would be too straightforward to play the game the way it should be played.

There was a sharpness in his eyes when he came back and sought Argine out. A cool, hard steadiness that in the future would make people think that Elisha Kagan ought to have gone to the other black Suit. An implacability when he requested permission to challenge an Eight.

If the Spades wanted to play this game, he thought, he’d play. Maybe they’d see that they’d bitten off more than they could chew.
