“Come with me. If you would prefer not to speak, I understand sign language, if you also know it. Learned it for the mute children.”
He gets up, and glances over his shoulder to make sure Bean and Ray would follow him. He wasn’t about to go anywhere without them. Besides, the feast was for Bean too. Not so much for Ray, given how little he ate but...he did like watching, so there was that. Maybe it’d cheer him up. Bark hoped so.
It was nice of her, that she’d learned sign language. All for the sake of children too.
Though he shakes his head, and then moves it up to reveal the scars on his neck. She was going to see them eventually anyway. It wasn’t a matter of whether he preferred not to speak or not.
He then moves his head down a little, doing his best to hide them again.
"Are you ready?"
That was a great question.
He quickly wipes at his eyes before turning around. She was still a stranger, and didn’t need to see him crying.
He looks down at himself.
Well...the injuries are gone, but there were still the blood stains. He would’ve loved to take a nice warm bath beforehand, but he wasn’t sure where the bathroom even was in this place.
He hoped there wouldn’t be people there...Then again, it was a feast, thrown by a queen. There probably would be.
A hand moves up to lightly touch his neck. He had nothing to cover up with. There’d probably be a lot of staring.
He takes in a breath, fidgeting a little as he nods. He was ready, he supposed, even if he didn’t feel that way.
He remains where he is. He’s so tempted to go and lie on the bed for himself, but maybe he’d be bothersome.
He didn’t understand.
There hadn’t been an outward reaction to them being back, not really. And now this reaction to him saying he’d found someone that had known one of his parents, when before, Ray had been the one pushing toward him finding out more.
Maybe he was annoyed with him. He could see that happening.
They’d gotten a second chance, and now instead of leaving, he wanted to stay because of the same curiosity that nearly got him and Bean executed.
But they were free to leave, he’d just said it. He’d be the one staying this time.
...Maybe Ray wasn’t annoyed enough with him to actually leave him behind on the off chance that something bad did happen again.
He glances over, and thinks about apologizing again. But he isn’t sure if that would do any good.
His eyes move over to the door. Maybe...maybe they really ought to leave. He could come back on his own, one day, when he’d be ready to face that woman again after running away for a second time.
His ears are lowered. It made his heart ache, just thinking about being so close to his answers and throwing them away. he had even more questions now than he did before, and it looked like he wouldn’t be getting any closure about them.

blinks. he refuses to display outward emotion, but he does smooch back.
Breaking the kiss, he lets out a shaky sigh, and leans his forehead on the squirrel’s chest. With the relief of everyone being relatively okay, came the emotions that had been bottled up this entire time.
He wasn’t sure how long he could keep doing that. But he didn’t really want to let himself cry. He didn’t really know where he was, or just how safe they were.
"If this was a dream, why am I still in this room?"
“‘Cause it ain’t a dream!”
Bark could at least be sure of that. He hadn’t slept in a while. Besides, his dreams didn’t usually involve scents.
He feels a rush of emotion much like the one before. Finally, he got to hear Ray’s voice again, and look into his eyes.
He waits until Bean is done hugging the squirrel, and gives him a kiss. He’d never thought he’d get to do that again either.
It feels hard to draw a breath. All that can be heard from the cell is sniffling and the sound of gasps. He tries to keep as quiet as he can, for fear that he’ll be threatened or yelled at.
His entire body is trembling. His lungs are burning and he doesn’t know what to do.
All of his biggest fears were coming true in one moment. He’d never see any of his loved ones ever again. Bark was gone, and he’d be joining him soon. He was completely and utterly alone. He didn’t even have his bombs to keep him company. Though Chaos knew that if he had access to them, he’d be blowing up this entire place, and everyone in it.
They took everyone away.
glowingmatriarch replied to your post: "Time to die."
“Do you want anything for your last meal?” Laughs. “Oh wait. You’ve already eaten enough for an entire village.”
His brows furrow. It’s a weak glare, compared to the ones he’s been shooting during the entirety of his stay here, but he can’t risk anything.
Even though at this point he’s practically fuming inside from agitation.
Eaten enough for an entire village?! Neither of them had eaten a single thing so far! Bean was sick, and the lack of food didn’t help with that.
It was extremely frustrating to know that he’d die without a last meal. He’d thought he could at least count on not dying on an empty stomach. Apparently not.
The bear takes in a deep breath, holds on to it for a few seconds, and then let go. There’d be no glaring, no growling, no reaching out between the bars to try and strangle someone. He couldn’t risk anything like that right now. He needed to wait.
