I like to think most of the rest of the gods tried to make Xie Lian Heavenly Emperor, and he refused over and over again until one day he snapped and said he'd do it, but Hua Cheng was going to be his co-regent, and have equal power.

They decided a ruling council sounded great after that.

The really funny part is Hua Cheng pretty much has that power anyway, because they are all so in debt to him. He just doesn't give a shit unless they are causing Xie Lian trouble.

After reading IDW Transformers Escalation, you know where this happens:

I can't help but imagine a scenario where Megatron gets something out of it besides the satisfaction of killing his nemesis up close, and fixates on being able to get a hold on Optimus' spark chamber again. Not to try and kill him, he just want's that feeling/high/whatever again.

I can't remember if I posted about this before, and I'm too lazy to go looking, anyway:

I headcanon that Hua Cheng is still a god even though he rejected the heavens. Divinity is a clingy thing. Just like he is Xie Lian's most devoted believer, XIe Lian is his. So they've created this unending cycle faith based upgrades for each other. The rest of the heavenly officials have decided there is nothing scarier, or more annoying than two gods who genuinely believe in each other.

Mu Qing, doing his hair: You don't have to do this.

Xie Lian: I do. It's for the good of the kingdom.

Mu Qing, annoyed: You could just court like normal people.

Xie Lian: But it's traditional!

Mu Qing: No it isn't, Hua Cheng made that up!

Xie Lian: :(

Mu Qing rolling his eyes: Uhg. Forget I said anything. Don't forget Feng Xin will be there to "rescue" you a eleven. Please have some clothing on this time, I didn't think I was ever going to hear the end of that.

Dumb Xian Le Quartet Poly idea ahead!

How it starts: Mu Qing accidentally admits out loud he found something Hua Cheng did "cute," and is immediately mortified, and wants to die.

Feng Xin unable to help himself teases him a bit, only to have Mu Qing point out a time just between them when Feng Xin admitted he found something else Hua Cheng did "cute."

This soon devolves into a brawl where they attack each other verbally with times they admired something about Hua Cheng.

Hua Cheng, having no idea how to react to this: Gege, I think they've been cursed.

Xie Lian is just nodding along with all the compliments Fengqing is giving Hua Cheng. Finally, they are admitting how amazing and cute his San Lang is!

I want Mu Qing to have a snow leopard companion. It's fits his iciness, and appears all mysterious and graceful until it makes any kind of movement at all, because this is the goofiest fucking cat ever.

He accidentally happened upon it on a mission after a dangerous demon, and it would not leave him alone. Ling Wen suspects it may be very young, lost it's mother before it was really ready to be on it's own, and has for some reason has decided Mu Qing is Mom now.

He swears he didn't give it any food, and he only brought it back to the heavens with him because it grabbed onto his very nice boots.(and also started making distressed noises when he tried to leave without it, but he's not going actually tell anyone that.)

So now Mu Qing has this oversized kitten that wants to play with all the things, sit in all the boxes, and be on his lap when he's trying to do paper work. Worst of all it loves Feng Xin, and later Hua Cheng, it also loves Xie Lian obviously, but that is neither surprising or terrible as far as Mu Qing is concerned.

Picking on Feng Xin works so well for these: Another Hualian get married before Xie Lian's 3rd ascension AU, where when Xie Lian, knowing the history between them nervously introduces them to his husband. Mu Qing's reaction of looking enraged, confused, terrified, and like he's going to be sick all at once is pretty much what he was expecting.

Feng Xin's reaction however: "Do it again!"

Hualian together: "What?"

Feng Xin looking angry, and just maybe like he might cry.: "I know we parted on bad terms, but I didn't think you'd fucking get married without even telling me! I want to go to your wedding, fucking do it again!"

Xie Lian: (・_・)....

Hua Cheng: Challenge accepted.

I can not find the tweet that originally inspired this, it was a while ago, but just imagine Hualian start doing adorably weird things like randomly deciding to be animals for the day. They won't change back unless there is a super bad emergency, so if it's just an unexpected meeting in the heavens someone will have to go look for them, and come back with with two little frogs. One is wearing a bamboo hat, and the other an eye patch somehow so everyone knows it's them. This is because of that one time Feng Xin nearly got into a fight with an actual swan he thought was Hua Cheng. So they are present, and they understand everything that is going on, but they are going to be frogs today, and everyone else is just going to have to deal with that.
