Buddie AU Idea for adoption!!!
Post-Tsunami. A What if Christopher was never found! AU. The woman who took him lost her own son and she thinks Chris is her second chance to be a good mom. So she took Chris and pretended he is her son.
They looked for months and months, slowly Buck and Eddie drifted apart. Buck blamed himself for loosing Chris, and Eddie hates himself because he can’t help but blame Buck for losing his son even when he knows that a natural disaster happened and Buck didn’t intend to lose Chris and that Buck would probably die and almost did die for his kid. In the end they part ways with Eddie going back to the Military after he lost hope of Chris still being alive and Buck convinced that Chris is alive poured all his resources on trying to find him.
Three years later Eddie is back state side for a leave he’s Major Diaz now. He visited 118 to see how hid old team was doing. He’s prepared to see Buck again, he’s latest stint in the military gave him the needed perspective to be able to move past the anger he felt at himself and Buck. Now he’s ready to forgive both himself and Buck. That’s why as soon as he could he made his way to the 118, only to be surprised to learn that Buck, hasn’t been working there anymore, not for the past three years. Chim even said he didn’t even ask to be reinstated at all. Eddie’s confused Buck never thought of anything else he could do but be a firefighter what is he doing now if not that? Eddie voiced his question and it seems like not one of them even wanted to answer him.
Buck’s life will never be the same. His life spiraled down to madness. He is basically homeless, he works the street and goes where ever a John’s hotel or apartment is and stays the night there if they let him or at Madney’s place if they don’t. He used all his money to fund his search for Christopher. He paid countless of private investigators to find Chris. Once or twice a week he would bother Athena at her precinct to ask if they had a lead on who took Chris, still convinced that his alive because they never found a body. When he is not selling his body, he’s trying to solve the mystery of Chris’s disappearance. He been scammed a lot but Buck desperately believes Chris is alive so he’s willing to believe every bit of lead presented to him even if it has a flimsy or even a non-existent evidence. He lost all his savings, he can’t keep an apartment, so he turned to prostitution to get enough money to find Chris.
tl;dr Post-tsunami. Chris is lost/Kidnapped. Buck and Eddie went their separate ways. Three years after Eddie was able to rebuild his life acceting that Chris is gone. But Buck? Buck never moved on, stuck in his nightmare of a life, still desperately searching for Christopher.
