Ok, remember that douchebag Quentin Beck AKA Mysterio from Spiderman: Far From Home? And how he had that obsession with Tony's EDITH glasses?
In my AU, Beck got ahold of the EDITH glasses during the chaos of Infinity War, but instead of immediately causing chaos, he waited for the perfect opportunity to strike.
You see, besides wanting the credit for the EDITH technology, he also wanted to ruin/trash Tony's reputation. Cause Beck's a petty bitch like that
And what opportunity did he choose? Why when Tony died in Endgame of course.
After Tony died, he used the EDITH technology to take his place, thus being an "Imposter"
(He managed to cover up Tony's death by saying that his Ironman suit was able to revive him and get his heart going again. Might come up with a better idea later)
With the EDITH tech, he made himself appear as Tony with scars from the Gauntlet. And then he proceeded to trash Tony's reputation by partying, pretending to get drunk, stuff like that, ect.
Spiderman: Far From Home still happens, there's just the added stress of "Tony not being himself". Everyone who know Tony personally, like Rhodey, Happy, and Pepper, know something isn't right, but they have no proof.
Peter is the only one with a sort of proof, due to his Spider Sense.
Mysterio still does his thing as wanting to be a new hero, because he switches between posing as Tony and being himself.
Peter also gets WAYYYY more traumatized in this AU due to Mysterio using Tony against him.
This AU is kinda just thrown together, still working out some plot holes. But you get the idea :D
