This is one of the most shared quotes from my bestselling (whoop) book #Mumboss (link in the bio) #plugplug. It’s what I hear most about from fellow creatives at book signings and events too, with many sharing that they often feel stalled when observe their peers’ work and accomplishments. The thing is, very few share the adversity, struggle and rejection so you only ever see a highlights reel (mostly because it’s natural to want to focus on the food). Keep that in mind when you witness what appears to be relentless success. Secondly, comparison doesn’t have to be toxic or an act of self-harm (seeking out others who unknowingly trigger your insecurities making it easy for you tear yourself apart) and can serve to inspire you and actually reinforce what is possible. So, work out what it is you admire about x, y and z (even if your first response is to reject that person, acknowledging that might be jealousy at work) and become INSPIRED. Unravel what works, moves, speaks to you, and make it your own. Vitally, please don’t compare the start of your own journey to someone else’s middle year/ established career.
