usually costs between $50-200 depending on the shelter, research a vet nearby for the first vet visit, shelters often give a voucher for the first visit. need to get litter box, bed, GOOD food, bowls, a cat tree, preferably with a 'house' so the cat can hide, collar and tag, flee prevention meds, cat nip, toys that don't have loose rope that could be swollowed...
