This week has been absolutely bonkers my friends! Everything's coming up Aggie though! Had a few doctors appointments which lead me to easier access to medications that I need to be pain free, did burlesque for the first time ever, and started a new job on Friday! Feeling super blessed this week and now I'm going to help my friend celebrate her 25th birthday at a pink themed birthday party! While I, much like everyone else would love to erase 2016 from history, let's not pretend that it was all bad. There were a lot of amazing things that happened this year! 2016 had an amazing soundtrack. RTJ3 dropped last night (merry Christmas to me!), Atrocity Exhibition, Lemonade, A Seat At The Table, Coloring Book, Thanks 4 Everything... like music was such a good part of this year. The Danny Brown incident will have me rolling for many years to come (askbox me for that one cause it's a riot). Nicki Minaj is releasing the Pinkprint Movie on New Year's Eve. I found my Toronto rap home and my dancing buddies, Sam, who's kindness and beauty are so beyond amazing, and my liminal friends Rameez and Shay aka the hypemen. Party and Bull$hit has become the regular spot, and stage dancing will always be my thing. Music is healing and I've been blessed this year discovering my scene. I was introduced to the Bunz community by Ama at her New Years party last year. At first it was just fun to trade, but now it's like home. I've met some of my closest friends thanks to the Spoonie group. People were there when I needed them. I was able to unload every piece of clothing that no longer fit to a good home. I always had a listening ear. 2016 brought my person back into my life. After being assaulted last year I didn't think I would ever want to even speak to a man again. But I still tried dating and ended up in so many horrible situations, as is what happens when you're ace and dating. But the day I logged back into Tumblr, and there he was, like some kind of golden god in a snapchat filter, the kismet of it all, and I took my shot. He's a kind soul who understands, which is all I could have ever asked for in a person. He kept me from going over the edge this year and I'm so thankful to have him back in my life. Some small things that aren't actually small at all and need to be mentioned: got my first big girl apartment! Ended a super toxic relationship! Got to go home and see my friends and family! Pandas are no longer endangered! But I think the biggest thing this year is that I finally started treatment for my fibromyalgia. Which has been entirely life changing. My pain is manageable. I can get out of bed more days than I'm stuck in bed. I'm off my psych meds entirely too. Which isn't an option for everyone, but was for me, which when you're told you're likely to be a lifelong case but you talk it through and come off them, can make you feel strong and like you've grown. Which I have. So if anything 2016 brought growth. And honestly.... it wasn't as bad as it looks.
Happy birthday to me! I turned 31 yesterday and was treated to the most amazing Hello Kitty themed birthday party by my roommates. Then we went dancing and for poutine at 3 am!
