my review on la la land bc i'm late af

- THE OPENING NUMBER HOLY FUCK BUCKETS WAS THAT ONE SHOT????? - LIKE THE OPENING NUMBER GOTDAMN - the colors of the costumes are really nice and very old-timey hollywood - seriously the cinematography in this is really theatrical and i like it a lot ((signed you local theatre kid but whatever)) - i love emma stone's voice? pretty and light. - mia and seb's theme is really nice and it's a good song to replay at a lot of different moments. it fits well w/o getting old. uNLIKE... - C I T Y O F M C F U C K I N S T A R S . - LEMME TELL YOU - GOT SO OLD, SO FAST. - okay yeah i get it. it's supposed to be an iconic song to take from the movie, but it was played like fiVE TIMES? it got REALLY OLD. - also i didn't really like ryan gosling's voice - or his performance for that matter? it was a little lacking imo. - also i'm laughing at only-white-guy-in-the-band ryan gosling - what's wrong with boise? it's a nice place with pretty mountains and a freaking bomb ass candy shop. - DID ANYBODY ELSE NOTICE THAT ONE PIECE OF HAIR ALWAYS IN RYAN GOSLING'S FACE????? IT'S A NIT-PICK REVIEW BUT I DON'T GIVE A SHIT?????? - a few cheesy moments, like the one where they were f l o a t i n g through the stars? - the little fantasy montage was okay; i liked the part when they were dancing through those lights the best - the dance at the bench was my favorite number with the two of them? but maybe because i'm a dancer and i loved the cute old-fashioned broadway style dancing - once again, the bright colors were very classic hollywood-esque and i loved them (especially the blues and pinks) - and ciTY OF STARS??? HOW THE F U C K DID THAT BEAT OUT MOANA??? - THAT'S ALL I GOTTA SAY GOODNIGHT EVERYBODY tl;dr the film nerd/theatre kid side of me loved the theatrical, one-shot scenes and the vibrant colors of old hollywood. choreo was great. i loved emma's performance, but i wouldn't have picked ryan but it's just my opinion. most of the music was good but city of stars was overrated. liked it. wouldn't go see in theatres again. maybe on netflix if i'm bored one night.
