...I’ve suddenly developed a need for a large plushie...A large buff Melon plushie...And I randomly decided I needed a Barbie-sized baby Melon figure too.
Why am I choosing this instead of studying for a midterm? I dunno, but I need it! 0______________0
The Barbie baby Melon should be eaiser to make though (To sum it up: take of Kelly’s head (it came from an older Barbie set I got when I was a kid), cut it up to make it smaller, stick a wire in her face to make a muzzle, sew fur all around the head, and add plush ears and horns).
The neck will be plush (don’t know how I’m going to re-attach it to the body) and so will the tail. To avoid making him looking like a marshmellow, I’m going to just paint his body a matching color to the fur (it will mostly be covered by clothes but still).
I’m a little annoyed with myself because I just realized I put the horns on the spot on his head (they’re behined when I meant to put them on top) and I spent all day making it...(sigh) maybe later, when I’ve forgiven myself, I’ll fix them (they should be an easy fix, even if I waited until the body was finished to do it).
As for the large Melon plush...I don’t know how I’d do that...DX I’ve never made a plushie larger than Build a Bear-sized, plus those leaf tattoos and spots would keep me busy for weeks...I’m pretty sure I’d have to go back to Hobby Lobby for more fabric for that too (and for the leaf tattoos...And the horns...And maybe a floral shirt (I have another pair of pants I can use for his legs and feet-wait, then I just make his head, neck, arms, torso and tail??)).
I’m hesitant about starting a project like this (and I should really focus on the midterm next week) but...Come on! Look at that buff hybrid! Who doesn’t want a hug or snuggle from that hulk of a Melon?!
