I downloaded RPG maker 2000 because I was considering trying to work on a small-scale plushworld RPG but then I realized that even on the small scale of the plot I was planning it'd take what feels like an absolutely overwhelming amount of work to get it done and that I couldn't even finish an RPG that took place in one area and had nothing but battles with various monsters and basically I am absolute fucking human garbage incapable of ever accomplishing jack fucking shit with any of my ideas and nobody should ever get their hopes up or expect literally anything from me because no matter what I plan or how I try to minimize it I will always suck too fucking much to get it done

I got gutsy and wanted to try making a big boss sprite like you'd see in first person rpgs like Dragon Quest and Earthbound but wanted to keep the sort of minimalist coloring style from those other sprites partly for stylistic choice and partly because I'm still not a great pixel person or know how to do anything fancy. I still think it looks pretty decent though, idk.

I WAS working on a new big picture but then i got the pixel bug so here's a little pixelly Sokkituam I made at like 2 am last night.

I'm still experimenting to try and find the canvas size threshhold at which my attempts at pixel things stop looking like pixel things and start looking like shitty MSpaint drawings.

As if the hordes of zombies and lurking murderous throw pillows weren't enough, the Scraplands are also home to a colossal predator known only as the Heapin' Reaper. Lurking buried beneath the scraps of fabric and stuffing that make up the earth of the Scraplands, the Heapin' Reaper uses its yarn whiskers to detect movement and bursts out to consume any creature in its path, either by inhaling them with its powerful suction or by creating tentacles from the ground to grab them with. Anything that enters its mouth is almost immediately shredded into a pulp of stuffing and torn fabric by its blade teeth. Unbeknownst to it, a rare flower known as the mournblossom has begun growing on its head.

Not the most inspired monster design, but I really wanted the Scraplands to have some sort of giant towering monstrosity that could just burst out of the ground. I sort of wound up going for a less fleshy version of Captain Mozzarella.
