Hero Partner Week 2026: Day 2

Crossover - Fusion - Music

Now this is a throwback....featuring Erika and Zeke of Team Aquaflare, the protagonists of my old PMD Comic Explorers of Heart. Zeke was always musically inclined, being one of the last things to be shown in the comic before its end, and so it felt fitting to make a drawing of these two for this one. It was fun to draw them both again after so long.

How was explorers of heart supposed to end? :)

I've been sitting on this ask for a long time now because I wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to reveal the entire plot to the story. I couldn't remember if I had pulled anything from it subconsciously for my current story, so I finally buckled down and reread all of my plan document for EoH. And while there's only a very vague loose similarity in it, there's nothing spoilery in it for my current story.

It's also.....not very well written in my opinion, but it was...some 11 years ago that I wrote this, when I was 17 and very much not all that great at writing stories. There's a lot of plot holes, loose ends, things that don't make sense, and ideas I shoved in purely because I thought they'd be cool with little idea on how they'd actually work and be utilized. It's still a fully complete story, which I was and still am proud of, but I know if I'd continued the comic I would've been dissatisfied with the final product since I know I could do better.

Maybe there's a better way to put this online, maybe on Ao3 or Deviantart or something, but as it is I just wanted to get it up for people to see.

I appreciate that people still have an interest in my old story though, and EoH holds a special place in my heart even with all its flaws. My first foray into serious comic and story making that brought me to where I am now.
