Trying to decide on a song to play on the year Anniversary of losing my Peanut was tricky. First I wanted something funny because he was so naughty. Big day of changes in the Hollister Apartment. It's Christmas in September. My Mom and Dad gave me a new couch and it was delivered today. I love it. It is firm and supports my legs and back. I feel so thankful and spoiled to receive such a lovely gift. While I was rearranging, I felt ready to say goodbye to Peanut's tote full of hay, his litter tray and clean out his cage. I also put his toys inside and closed it. Now, it looks so tiny and final. The only time I had touched it since he left was to empty the water bottle. Doing this today helped me realize how much I still miss HIM, and that I'm not ready for another bunny. For now I'll be enjoying this gorgeous luxurious couch. This present. Today is four weeks. No Peanut. This is Peanut's favorite blanket. He loved to nibble it (it has hundreds of his little teeth marks) and yank on the fringe when it dangled over the edge of the couch. He would fluff it up and then smooth it out with that wonderful "shwoosh" noise. I covered him in it as he was dying. It ended up smothered in his hair. Yesterday my Mom and I made a little memento box for him. It is next to Pickle's. I'm keeping the blanket. I'll use it again. Someday. Some of the birds have returned. The rain has brought out the worms and such.
