It’s been 1wk that we’ve been off & I’ve finally had time to catch my breath & reflect on last season. With the tour beginning PNB 18/19 it kind of took the air out of all the memorable moments of last year. I realized looking back that what made these times special wasn’t necessarily the dancing part, but actually the quality experience I shared with my colleagues, the stagers & choreographers. Ballets will be repeated & some performances will be more significant than others, but the time together in the studios is the heart of it all, where the love is communicated. Here are my most cherished moments of #pnb1718 - 📸: @angelasterlingphoto @lindsaythomasphoto @stacyebstynephotography • Jewels by George Balanchine 💎 Balanchine is my foundation so I was so pleased to debut the season with this ballet. • Plot Point by Crystal Pite - What’s not to like when you’re working with genius? • Swan Lake by Kent Stowell ♥️ Sharing time & space again w/Kent + Francia was all that I could ask for & more while re-living this classic. I’m not sure I’ll ever do Odette/Odile again, but I’d be happy knowing if this was my last time. • Romeo et Juliette by Jean-Christophe Maillot✨ The ballet that changed my life!!! How blessed & grateful I was to be w/ my BMC family while they in New Orleans! l ♥️ BMC - Merci JC 😘 • William Forsythe’s, One Flat Thing, reproduced. Although maybe not a big audience favorite, for the dancers it’s a thrill. From the outside it’s a sensory experience if you dive in, playing with phrasing & shapes. It’s like a moving modern artwork. Loved it even more this time around, Ayman!! • Raku by Yuri Possokhov 🙌🏼 Any time that I have a moment to express dimensions of a character & story is rich for me. I pray this comes back! • Justin Peck’s, Year of the Rabbit 🐰 I’m starting to repeat roles which is a welcome opportunity. This piece is so unique & really a sign of the times w/what’s current on the scene. I feel fortunate to be a part of it 🙏 • PICNIC! Sharing another part of my art w/awesome people was the 🍒 on my sundae 😋 •Anita in Jerome Robbins WSS 💥 Getting to work on another skill is always fun! Anita was a blast this time around 💃🏻 (at Seattle, Washington)
