Love art? This recently described Begonia loves art too! In fact, it is a work of art from nature itself. Begonia tandikan invites you all to see a collection of art by advocates of Philippine flora. Botany and art combine in this exhibit that stands as a tribute to Dr. Leonard Co.  “The exhibit attempts to trace the polarity and tenuous relationship between art and science - the parallelism between the discerning eye of the taxonmist and the artist’s visual acuity.” -Richard Achacoso of the Philippine Native Plants Conservation Society Inc.  Check out “Phylogeny of Desire,” a group show curated by Ronald Achacoso at MO Space in BGC. yesterday, i joined my first ever art e-workshop organized by #PNPCSI, led by @theartofbingfamoso. i learned that: - Rafflesia is a parasitic plant, with no true roots and leaves. - Rafflesia Leonardi (as pictured) is the third largest flower in the world! - there is a technique in using acrylic called ‘glazing’ and it’s life-changing. - it was my 6th monthly art/life update/payer-meeting with @vdcatienza!!! okay, that’s it for today. Leonard Co was renowned as a "human library" of Philippine plants and trees. Unfortunately not many people knew about him before, and even after his death.

One of his legacies is a "digital library" of Philippine flora, Philippineplants.org, and the Philippine Native Plants Conservation Society or PNPCSI, which today continues to accept members and share knowledge on the importance of our forests.

He was killed in a supposed crossfire involving the army and the NPA in the forests of Leyte on November 15, 2010.
