I wish you a delightful May Day. Here's a beautiful trillium flourishing in my garden, bringing back memories of my long-gone neighbor Audrey who first showed me the beauty of this plant years ago. It's native to our PNW home, comes in numerous varieties, and is protected in many jurisdictions. Here's another before-after look at a recent kitchen renovation which, for me, always begins with managing the space. Adding an island (still the #1 most popular element folks want in their kitchens!) changed this room from a hallway where guests were always in the way to a functional - and beautiful! - kitchen with plenty of space for cooking and socializing. This small cottage home had been added to over the years so we had to walk back and undo some previous decisions - but hey, that's remodeling! The before photo and my initial concept sketch show the very beginning of the journey.
