shadows coming now
Raymond is crawling on the Merry-go-round at Overlook Park as I watch from a thirty yard distance. His tiny body is twisting through the bars as they curve and its not so dissimilar an act as the spinning globe I'm untangling myself from. Today we talked about tree memories at Family Art Brunch, each person sharing the atmosphere of a favorite tree. How it was when they were there and which parts of it they took to carry inside when they left. It's not so dissimilar from the map I've been making of Williams Ave as the Resident/Artist at Poa Cafe. Today I performed GhostMap: A Performance of Property Law in Two Acts. It's about the structures that shapes the atmospheres we move through which exchange with and create us in equal parts. And as I read selections of Cow Creek Treaty moments of the landscape, and myself, emerged for me. The atmospheres we pass through shape our atmospheres too and since they are structured by laws we must study them as bylaws to our corp-oration. The body is the core of operations and we must understand the structures that code the spaces it comes from and goes. As wind passes through leaves I hear trees breathe as I exhale relief and the most natural thing at the moment is to feel the unquestioned harmony that ebbs between all beings. Xo
