Podcamp with Mr. G [A PodCamp Story]
A Series of Events 9/17/2025
The series of events I am about to tell you may be a bit shocking. I know it was for me at the time and well, it will be for you now. This year at summer camp, PodCamp to be exact, on the final day we took a KAHOOT quiz. Nothing too alarming other thanā¦well we will get to that later! What needs to be known now is that there was a certain Mr. G that taught a seventh grade classā¦we didnāt get his full name and, honestly, now Iām glad we didnāt. After looking up some of the supernatural happenings in these woods Iām not so sure he was even a teacher at all.
Maybe some kind of trickster spirit? No, not quite, but a being that feasted on rotten flesh and blood. Considering how I hesitated earlyā¦I suppose now is as good a time as ever to mention them, the questions. Now one was rather simpleā¦can you eat rotting meat? Sure, you can. But youāll be quite ill by the end of it. The answer, yes, still plays out in my mind. Havenāt been able to shake the feeling Iām being watched.
Nowā¦the second question that really put me on edge was the one about where to store your knife. A belt loop, hell, even a pocket would have been a good answer to the question. But the correct answer to the question on the quiz? It was, neck. It still sends shudders through me even thinking about it. He was teaching this to a seventh grade class after all. Despite these issues the counselors reassured all of us that we would be fine and that those things were not safe to do. So, ultimately nobody did those things. No one got hurt and that would be the end of it or so I thought.
Now, I donāt know much about the supernatural admittedly, but I do know Theology, and I believe without a doubt that Mr. G is some sort of god. God of the unrest, god of the dead, god of the undead, hell even some sort of trickster god might fit the bill. All I know is Iām being followed as I write this text. So, if this text comes to an end? Expect the worst.
Survival is important right now. That I am certain of more than anything. Iām home but everything feels different. Even with my family around? I feel scared and helpless. I hope that some day the counselors will read these letters and ramblings and regret what they have done. But I fully doubt that they will.
After all, they brought all of this upon us. I have a feeling that they knew all along this would happen. This camp is not safe. The woods it spoke to me, its heart beat ever slowly. And I swear I could hear a faint calling. To stay there, forever.
But now back to Mr. G. After all thatās what I started this project to document. A teacher that definitely wasnāt a teacher at all. And I have proof. The woods told me. The counselors called me to the side and told me I was wrong but I know Iām not. After all, no one that worked at that camp seemed too normal to me. Everyone seemed a little too happy to be there. Even the thought of that gives me chills. Personally, I never want to step foot in those woods again. Not even if money was involved. Something just isnāt right about that place.
I was put in a cabin with people I barely even knew. Made to make a podcast in a short amount of time. And then this dark quiz was dropped on me like it was nothing. Like they didnāt even care for our safety. Then again, they probably didnāt. Looking back on it the whole place reeked of danger. And now it will never leave me.
I do hope that this can help others to not fall into the same trap that I did. Falling into harmony with nature isnāt all itās made out to be. All I wanted was to learn, to make new friends, and maybe find a new safe space away from home for the summer. But this, this, definitely wasnāt what I was expecting out of it.
Iām home now but at what cost? Will I ever be safe again? Can I go back and face my fears? Can I go back at allā¦? Can I go back? Noā¦no. What am I saying? I canāt go back. I canāt let the woods take me! I canāt let him find me! I can never go backā¦no matter what.
I know that Iām not safe anywhere I go. But at least when Iām home Iām not in that abysmal place. I can just sit hereā¦and continue to type away. My last words for this world.
Words of sorry and loss. I donāt think Iāll ever be the same again after the trip to PodCamp. But I wonāt let anyone else go through what I have. Not if I have something to say about it.
Now. If youāll excuse me. Iāll be having my meal now. No, donāt worry, it isnāt rotting meat. In fact itās a salad. I havenāt been able to eat meat since Iāve gotten home. Just reminds me of Mr. G is allā¦not that itās important. Itās also justā¦more comforting right now. Knowing that itās safe to eat it. Knowing that I am safeā¦am I safe? No, the woods. I need to go back to the woods to be safe. My home is not safe. I am one with the woods.
Damn itā¦itās getting stronger. Itās only a matter of time before I have to listen to it. That stupid voice that keeps calling me back. Like a broken record. I canāt go back yet I have to. I have to face my fears. I have to face the woodsā¦and PodCamp again. I have to face Mr. G.
