24042019 :: Poetic Object
[If I had more time/Poetic Object]
w. Hyelin KIM
Our theme is “electronised knowledge”.
Now a day, people refuse reading books. Rather, they use laptops or mobile phones to search on google. Even a new word, ‘to google’ appeared due to people’s behaviour of relying on Google research.
Our purpose is to show a conflict between analog and digital sources.
A student(Hyelin) is holding a laptop like a book, reading information and knowledge from it. Behind her, there are hundreds of books in the selves. However, she does not even care about them; only the laptop is what she believes.
Reflection:
Composition of the photo is what we feel satisfied. However, the colour of Hyelin’s clothes is not good - since it is similar to the laptop’s colour, the laptop does not stand out.
In addition, the laptop is hardly seen. In fact, it is even hardly recognised as a laptop. Taking photo closer to Hyelin would be better.
POETIC OBJECTS
We were looking at two objects that make a meaning. As a group we chose beauty being preserved but not lasting long. We wanted to involve flowers as we see flowers as a sense of beauty.
