Material explorations: creating a character using objects that we brought with us, inspired by Oskar Schelmmer’s Triadic Ballet, based on a Verbal Prompt. Our Prompt was “Shy” we used the head area as a kind of cage or mask to show how the character wasn’t showing his true self, and the design was also inspired by our inital ideas about making a clam type costume to hide the wearer. The wire hanging from the strings was supposed to represent a bubble of personal space. The shackles on the hands shows that shy individuals hold back from being expressive. The eyes on the costume show how a shy person may be worried about what people are thinking or feel that all eyes are on them. I had fun with the continuation of this brief, fleshing the character out with drawings which can be found in my main portfolio

PASTEL AND CARD ANIMATION: FIGURE IN THE ROOM
This is an observationally drawn animation of a model twisting using pastels and coloured card. I was influenced by this style of animation by adverts for the Royal Oprah House London.

Our theme is “electronised knowledge”.
Now a day, people refuse reading books. Rather, they use laptops or mobile phones to search on google. Even a new word, ‘to google’ appeared due to people’s behaviour of relying on Google research.
Our purpose is to show a conflict between analog and digital sources.
A student(Hyelin) is holding a laptop like a book, reading information and knowledge from it. Behind her, there are hundreds of books in the selves. However, she does not even care about them; only the laptop is what she believes.
Reflection:
Composition of the photo is what we feel satisfied. However, the colour of Hyelin’s clothes is not good - since it is similar to the laptop’s colour, the laptop does not stand out.
In addition, the laptop is hardly seen. In fact, it is even hardly recognised as a laptop. Taking photo closer to Hyelin would be better.
