Look, I find the floridaman memes funny, simply because I understand living in a state where economic disadvantage and lack mental health help is the norm.
It’s funny to me because honestly guys if I don’t laugh I’ll cry.
I’m poor, I’m physically and mentally unwell and getting help for anything is a trick.
You gotta beg, endure being lectured by every healthcare professional about how you have no money and they don’t understand why you're there. It’s embarrassing and awful and it sucks.
Such is being Poor and American.
And I think in some situations it’s not cruel. I could be floridaman if I wasn’t so terrified of being mocked for the things outside of my control.
I laugh because I understand the desperation and it’s utterly dehumanizing.
How exactly did I get dragged, little man? I proved a point. For a simple and concise action, that dirt kicker over there, has a simple reaction.
