but the blade is roughed out and tempered and ready to be sharpened.

is this overkill for the dalish scout armor? yes.

but there is a reason my lavellan is an assassin and a dagger rogue. we both like knives. and i wanted the excuse to try making one.

thinking I'm going to use that piece of osage for the handle and then wrap it in leather.

and i gotta figure the pommel.

but the guard is roughed out at any rate.

Guess what I ordered the other day? Peter's Sword Rhindon from The Chronicles of Narnia! Like with the engravings and stuff! Sadly not with the same scabbard from the movie, but still!!! IT'S MY FIRST SWORD AND I'M SO EXCITED!

Seriously though, I had a feeling that axe was going to break. The neck was just too thin. Jor-El’s responses and comments are pretty much exactly what I thought he would say. 

I’m told that this particular season faced major delays in regards to officially airing on TV. According to Jor-El, one of the big problems was that the studio wanted some drama when they were doing their stuff. Shit that you would see on typical programs like this; however, Jor-El and the other contestants wanted absolutely none of it. Blacksmithing is a serious thing, what with skill and safety precautions, and everyone really had nothing but respect from one another. Knowing my buddy, they likely all traded stories, techniques and tips.

He actually encouraged me to get into blacksmithing and invited me to his forge when I was in college after I told him it was a dream job I had as a child. Instead, I made a foundry based on a King of Random video and melted soda cans down into ingots. (I think I have a video of that somewhere...)
