@cipher-wise brought up an absolutely brilliant idea that deserves its own post: Subaru needing to learn to groom himself. Oh my god that’s so cute.

Okay so — I’m thinking that in the old timeline, it actually WASN’T Rem who decided to groom his fur while he was at the manor, even though that seems obvious. No, I’m gonna go ahead and say that it was RAM. Ram, who didn’t want her little sister getting so “intimate” with Subaru so fast, who was largely responsible for mentoring him during his first few days, who is very much Subaru’s big sister whether she will admit it or not.

In BTZ, however, Ram no longer wants to touch him — and neither does Rem, for similar reasons, and for reasons that are much more intense. And as he has no idea why this is the case, that breaks Subaru’s heart :(

Yeah I’ve decided. Rem and Ram are both Minccinos. Ram is a Shiny: a pleasant pale pink. However, Ram has some un-Minccino-like traits that make her insanely strong.

Ram

Abilities: Competitive, Defiant, Guts, Adaptability, Filter

As the Reincarnation of an Oni God, Ram has multiple abilities — none of which are actually native to Minccino.

Primary Moveset: Swift, Sing, Substitute, Rest

Swift is normally not all that powerful. Ram is not a normal Pokémon.

If a battle is coming, she mentally switches out Sing for Last Resort. She can do this in a matter of seconds.

(Sing is reserved for Rem. No one else may touch it.)

Rem

Ability: Cute Charm

Primary Moveset: Tidy Up, Take Down, Nasty Plot, Thunderbolt

Also knows Baton Pass, but rarely uses it. She’d rather deal with everything herself. There are a couple moments, however, where she uses Nasty Plot and then passes the Special Attack boost over to Subaru.

Minccino normally can’t learn Nasty Plot. Rem’s circumstances make her a unique case.

Nasty Plot followed by Thunderbolt is a brutal combination. Normally, however, Rem is the reckless type who relies on Take Down. The regeneration boost translated from her canon self’s Oni heritage helps her take the brunt of the recoil damage.

Learned Last Resort just as she was fighting Lye Batenkaitos. It wasn’t enough.
