Okay but hear me out. A post-apocalyptic pokemon world where humans and pokemon have not interacted for generations and they're suddenly reintroduced to each other. Pokeball technology is obsolete and you'll have to bond the old fashioned way. The last Pokedex battery has died and now it's up to individuals to document species all over again. Humans are incredibly cautious and carry weapons for protection against the more savage ones. Much violence. Very apocalypse. So dreary. Wow.
