The gym buzzed with energy as Nathan moved effortlessly up and down the court, feeding off the cheers that echoed from the packed stands. Normally, games demanded every ounce of his focus, but tonight someone kept pulling his attention away. A redheaded guy he'd never seen before sat near the front row. It became a game within the game. Every stolen glance lingered just a little too long, neither of them looking away first, and by the final buzzer Nathan found himself wondering more about the stranger than the scoreboard.
After a quick shower, Nathan traded his jersey for a dark t-shirt and jeans before making his way out to the parking lot, keys spinning around his finger. His black pickup came into view beneath one of the lot lights… along with the redhead from the game, casually leaning against the driver's door like he'd been waiting there the whole time. Nathan couldn't stop the grin that spread across his face as he walked up. "So, what? Was the game so good you had to tell me in person?" Nathan smirked, tossing his duffel bag into the bed of his truck. Resting one hand against the side of it, he leaned casually beside the redhead, his gaze dropping to meet the other's with quiet confidence.
