Pokeddexy Day 30: Shiny

i had trouble picking which shiny pokemon to design – changing the colors really impacts how recognizable the design is! – but i think spiritomb has to be one of the coolest shinies. i've mentioned before how it's challenging to design pokemon without faces, but spiritomb was challenging because it pretty much only has a face! i tried to make her look mischievous and kind of hypnotic... she is most certainly up to no good!

Pokeddexy Day 29: Scariest Pokemon

It was banished for its violence. It silently gazed upon the old world from the Distortion World.

for the scariest pokemon, i immediately knew i wanted to draw giratina! as a kid, giratina was possibly the coolest thing i had seen EVER (honestly, it still ranks pretty far up there). giratina's design is so graphic that i struggled to make her look creepy (it's those damn stripes!), but i think i finally succeeded with this design! she looks otherworldly and frightening, but also powerful and even beautiful. i've literally been trying to come up with something for giratina for months now, so it feels amazing to finally create something i'm satisfied with!

Pokeddexy Day 28: Cutest Pokemon

so remember when i said i was getting a bit too ambitious with these prompts and they were taking way too long to do? well i blame this piece! i was entranced by the idea of a preppy, retro piplup schoolboy, but once i sketched him, i thought, well, turtwig is pretty cute, too. and then once turtwig was there, i couldn't leave out chimchar! the sinnoh starters were just too adorable for me not to draw all of them on their walk to school!

Pokeddexy Day 27: Coolest Pokemon

i knew i wanted to design another legendary for the coolest pokemon category, and i think yveltal is SO COOL. i can't help but love dark types – they make my inner emo child so happy. and doing a high fashion design makes my adult self happy, so it was a win-win!

Pokeddexy Day 26: Starter

for a starter pokemon, of course i had to go to my beloved gen 5 and choose serperior! in my two playthroughs of pokemon black, i picked snivy, and both times she was a girl, so this is for her! i love beautiful swordswoman serperior <3

Pokeddexy Day 25: Legendary

oh my, i don't know why i thought i could finish this in a single day, lol. i've been working on these designs for reshiram and zekrom for awhile now, and i loved this idea so much that i wanted to do it justice and give it the detail that it deserved! i'm not sure if they truly look like opposites – reshiram looks kind of angelic and zekrom looks like a sci-fi character – but i tried to keep some similar motifs (the hair, the chest diamond thing) to make them look like companions. i'm really happy with how it turned out, even if it took several days longer than i expected!

DAY 30 - CHANDELURE ☆

the brother of the shieldon from day 16! both of them died, but shieldon was revived while chandelure stayed a ghost... both of them mourn the other's death not knowing the other is still around :')

this is the first daily for a month challenge i've finished, so i'm really proud of myself!! this was the first design i did for the challenge, glad to end on a fun note!
