i just wonder what the professor's up to!
I couldn’t not
Both Scarlet and Violet and ZA suffer from the same thing:
Great cast, good and interesting story (some bad writing/plot holes and waste potential here and there but for the majority it's good) and some really cool scenes all trapped in shitty games with no game design whatsoever, badly structured gameplay and map designs, some lazy ahh animations and non existent challenges.
People complain about the graphics because it's the "mainstream problem" but there's so much more and it's so sad because these games are actually very enjoyable but jeez
Does Anyone Else Feel Like Blueberry Academy Is a Reflection of What Naranja/Uva Academy Used to Be?
At the very least around the time Kieran is going through is antagonist era?
The vibe of the school is super different, stressful and just plain… awful? To be fair when we do arrive here we do at the worst time. The Elite Four is crumbling, Kieran is Champion and going through it and taking it out on everyone else, and the nature of this school being totally different being focused solely on battling as well.
The school itself essentially lets the students run it which uh… yeah we can see the downsides of that with Kieran essentially being boss to a degree.
That said, I’m not blaming Kieran totally because like I said, poor kid is clearly going through it and needs help. While he does have his friends, they can only do so much. (And unfortunately they kind of don’t help by unintentionally encouraging his behavior since he is Champion and all) Heck Drayton pulls you into becoming a club member because of the fact that they’ve tried everything else to shake Kieran out of his spiral but none of it is working.
But that just leaves the question….
The heck are the teachers at?
Director Cyrano is the opposite of Clavell, more lighthearted and happy to joke and not have formalities. He’s not a bad guy by any means and he does seem to care about his students. He just uh… can be pretty forgetful. Like all this stuff is going on and he genuinely wouldn't know because he’s a silly. Negligent possibly but at least his heart is in the right place.
Briar though? Yeah she’s an example of a teacher who let plenty down selfishly. Woman didn’t just see Kieran spiraling in Area Zero, screaming his heart out about how he feels like an unwanted failure, but probably has heard how he’s acted being Champion all this time.
Or maybe she didn’t hear him because she was too obsessed with the treasure to even notice this. I’d say her obsession with the treasure lasted for a loooooooong while too for things to get so bad. Heck she even encourages Kieran to battle and keep going even when he loses, saying he should terrestiralize Terapagos and we all know how that turns out…
In the end she finally realizes her mistakes but… I dunno it kind of rubs me the wrong way she didn't face any kind of repercussions. If anything she gets rewarded because she gets to meet with a publisher about all she found at Area Zero. She’s chipper and happy and if you say you havent really recovered from all that happened she just downplays it saying you got youth on your side so you should be energized!
She basically does what Rose does in Sword and Shield, focusing so much on her own wants and needs that it nearly causes destruction and chaos for everyone and it’s up to our player to save the day.
The difference is Rose actually faced consequences for what he did. The man got ARRESTED for putting all of Galar in danger with his dumb plan. Even Oleana, his most loyal companion, is doing community service as we speak for assisting him. Briar gets to say sorry and go back and reap the rewards of being a bad teacher.
Aaaaaaand I’m spiraling, I’m getting off track… But seriously couldn't she have been fired for her actions? It would have been a nice way to tie into how the original teachers were negligent in Naranja/Uva before Geeta made the big call and fired them all. She can still have her publisher thing just at least let her go.
Briar: "Sooooo I got fired, but maybe that's for the best. Either way I do wish you and all my students the best because I know you'll do wonderfully! Now I must go I need to speak with publishers!"
But I digress...
Everything that happens at Blueberry when we arrive is pretty similar to what we hear Naranja/Uva were like before they went through a sort of Renaissance. In a way us going to Blueberry along with Clavell (Because he's good friends with Cyrano I’m sure he’s going to help him out with his school and watch his back. Because Clavell is awesome) helped stop another incident of a school essentially falling apart at the seams. It even hits harder because the bully plot has us see the bully be the sweet boy who latched onto our character become the bully and be the one causing the pain and hurt for everyone.
Thankfully like the school it turned out better for Kieran now compared to the bullies at our schools that ran away and changed schools all together. He learned the error of his ways and feels awful about it and wants to do better.
It'd be interesting to see how the Academy does in a time skip. Maybe a Pokémon Legends Unova? (I ask totally not also because I'd love to see Drayton ineract with his grandpa and Iris and see how Ingo and Emmet and N are doing. Nope not at all....)
may i request a tiny XS ceruledge getting headpats & being called cute by an older trainer...
ofcouse, apologize this isn't that great
Who knew Director Clavell could be a hottie? G!LF alert I guess!
SV's 2nd anniversary (18.11)
It's been 2 years already... It's crazy how time flies. SV is really important to me, so I drew another celebration pic.
Let's drink for this, I guess. Oh, they're also all dragons, for some uniqueness.
