Thoughts on Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green:
Starting to think there's no Pikachu in this forest
"there's a 5% chance of Pikachu showing in viridian forest" right and mew is under the truck
and is the 5% Pikachu in the forest with us right now
Wow! Another kakuna! You know what else allegedly has a 5% chance of showing in viridian forest?
I'm writing a book, it's called Catching Pikachu before Power Plant and Other Urban Legends
1:8,192. One in eight thousand, one hundred, and ninety-two. .0122%. Those are the odds of seeing a shiny pokemon in LeafGreen. Do you know what the odds of seeing a Pikachu are? 5%. Five. Percent. So for every twenty pokemon, you should see one pikachu. Statistically speaking.
I found a shiny metapod in Viridian Forest. Wow. Isn't that something.

alternatively,
people on Reddit are fucking stupid
if you weren’t aware TPC is re-releasing FireRed and LeafGreen on the switch with no modifications whatsoever
no updated graphics
no online features
no pokemon home integration
this is literally the GBA games wrapped in an emulator and being sold for $20 usd EACH and bootlickers on Reddit don’t seem to understand why people are mad about that
they’re using this strawman argument that the backlash over it is “oh you can just play the ROM for free nobody wants to pay for games they just want to pirate” and it’s like no. no, that’s not the issue.
the issue here is back when the Wii/U were around the Virtual Console sold legal copies of ROMs for you to play and the GBA ones were priced around $6.99 or $7.99 and now the Pokemon company is like oh snap we can cash in on nostalgia for the price of *spins wheel of capitalism* $20!
Me: “Oh does that include both versions? Because that’s a good deal then!”
Nintendo (probably): “NO, FUCK YOU also if you want a version with a different language option you have to pay the $20 again because again we’re literally reselling you the GBA rom and there’s no language option”
shiny lugia sprite redraw for luck 💖
