No one talks about how devastating it is to suddenly stumble across an old favourite song of yours from childhood that you unknowingly abandoned decades ago, because yk, there wasn't spotify and all at that time and it was illegally downloaded onto that phone and that was ages back so you dodn't remember its existence all these years. But suddenly you stumble across it someday, accidentally on some rusty little niche corner of the internet, unprepared, and you are that 12 year old child again. Suddenly you know every word and you are singing along to every line that you last sang more than a decade ago. And you remember obsessing over and repeating certain parts of the song, remember every curve of the notes and each beat, remember the imaginary scenarios to each verse, remember writing down the lyrics from a crunchy low pixel mp3 lyric video. And you wonder at what point did life start to go downhill. Because at that moment, that 12 year old child needed everything they wanted to be happy.
