Cosmic Eclipse Chapter 1

When a bomb explodes at 221B Baker Street, Sherlock is blinded. Without sight, how will Sherlock be able to continue his work as a detective? Has Moriarty defeated him before they've even had a chance to meet?

“Gas explosion,” he said dully. “So I'm told. What a way for the brilliant detective to go, eh?” Something about the way he was talking sent a cold sliver of dread snaking into John's heart. “Sherlock, you haven't gone anywhere. You're a bit banged up, but you'll be back to normal in no time.” Sherlock's jaw tightened. “Is that your professional diagnosis, Doctor?” He raised his hands to the bandages covering his eyes, clawing at them desperately. Ignoring John's protests, he ripped the bandage away from his eyes. Uncovered, his intense grey eyes stared blankly at nothing. “How am I supposed to be Sherlock Holmes when I'm blind?”
