ぽっくり（ぽっくり下駄、ぽっくり靴）は、主に子供が履く履物の一種です。木製の台に鼻緒がついた下駄のような形状で、踵がなく、足の指の付け根の部分で履きます。ぽっくりは、子供の足の成長を妨げず、指の運動を促す効果があると言われています。また、足音が静かなので、室内履きとしても適しています。伝統的なぽっくりは、漆塗りや木彫りの装飾が施され、子供の成長を祝う贈り物としても用いられました。現在では、プラスチック製や布製など様々な素材やデザインのぽっくりが作られ、子供たちの足元を彩るかわいらしい履物として親しまれています。

I just paid a couple hundred dollars to get my cats’ teeth fixed. He dropped two pounds and he’s already a pretty tiny kitteh- his teeth were so damaged that he couldn’t eat. His whole poor lil mouth swelled with infection. I couldn’t wait any longer. If you’ve followed the blog, I took two cats from a foster to buy them more time. I was told that they were both healthy and friendly. Neither are true- Alex is nearly feral. Gideon likes people and hates other animals. They’re both pretty sick and completely uncared for. The person said she’d take them back if I wasn’t able to care for them, and when it came time to pick them up... silence. No response. They’re listed on various pet pages, but no bites. It’s been over $450 on them so far, and I need another couple hundred to get Gideon radiology to see if it’s hip dysplasia or arthritis that’s making him walk strangely. He’s only 6 years old, estimated. 

To make up for this, I’m selling a bunch of my collection that don’t fit well or that I don’t use. I haven’t worn 21cm shoes in over a decade! >D Why do I still have these?

Those shoes (also named okobo) were worn by girls in old times and are nowadays mostly only seen worn by maiko (geisha’s apprentices).

It’s cool to see modern fashion brand proposing modern take on this item - even if my instable ankles suffer just from looking at this xD

Pokkuri are girls wedge wooden clogs, often having a little suzu bell on the inside. The cheery sound was once meant to protect the wearer against all harm at each of her step

Now, they are mostly worn for Shichigosan ceremonies and by Maiko (apprentice Geisha). You can find laquered ones (considered more formal), but I prefer the “simpler” style:
