i cannot believe that they decided to make a boat (floats away) (antarctic winter) into a warehouse (all their supplies) (scavenging from terra nova leftovers) in antarctic winter (the pack ice) and they were by cape evans (no shelter) (they cant anchor the boat) and they put all of their supplies on it (the boat they can't anchor) (antarctic winter) and stenhouse didnt give them (shore party) supplies they asked for (warehouse manager) (requested stupid stuff) (some was important). hey guys i think the boat (unsheltered) (pack ice) (couldnt anchor it) (warehouse) (antarctic winter) (all our supplies) floated away. Who could have foreseen that
shackleton is a fumbler that's my opinion right now. hes a chronic fumbler who can do a couple cool things when hes under pressure
did stumble across an evil pseudoarchaeology conspiracy theory type video on here earlier today about the terra nova expedition but it made me laugh a lot because it showed that one photo of hooper posing with the Heinz baked beans like an instagram influencer right before a million ai generated photos of fake Antarctic ruins
the dnd campaign my friend is organizing is going to be polar themed ‼‼‼‼ doomed expedition !!!!!!
I infodump/tell stories about polar expeditions to the cashiers at work so frequently that there are several of them now who will open conversations with me by asking if i have read about any new expeditions and occasionally i get to say yes and recount an abridged version of whatever book ive been reading
every polar expedition is haunted by those who came before
between shackleton barely hiring enough people to populate the aurora and aeneas mackintosh finding out that shackleton bought the ship without seeing her and that's shes super beat up something is telling me this leg of the expedition is going to go poorly. not sure exactly what though
