Gaila was on shore leave. And so she'd decided to head off on her own, for once, to visit the glorious United States of America she'd been told so much about.
And so, she was, after a week or so of travelling by bus, in New York City.
It felt like she was dreaming.
Biting her lip, she hesitated in the middle of Times Square, feeling a little overwhelmed by all the people - the movement - the colors.
It was... wow.
So she turned to the next person who passed her, put on a smile and asked: "Hi, would you mind taking a picture for me?", holding out a disposable camera.
